Extracts from Register of Systems of Marking Stock Published
(Notice No. Ag. 6707)
Pursuant to section 25 of the Stock Amendment Act 1956, the Director-General of Agriculture hereby publishes the following extracts from the register of systems of marking to be placed on stock for the purposes of the said section:
Name of Applicant: Auckland Herd Improvement Association Incorporated.
Address: 74 London Street, Hamilton.
DESCRIPTION OF MARKING SYSTEM
“There shall be placed in the left ear of the animal, by means of a tattoo, a letter representing the season of birth of the animal followed by the letter Z representing the Auckland Herd Improvement Association Incorporated.
Every animal shall, in addition, be further identified by means of an identification number which shall, in the case of identification numbers from 1 to 9999, be placed in the right ear by means of a tattoo.
Where any identification number exceeds 9999, every unit of 10,000 in respect of such number shall be denoted by a numeral placed, by means of a tattoo, in the left ear of the animal immediately preceding the alphabetical letters previously referred to, and the remaining numerals of such identification number shall be placed, by means of a tattoo, in the right ear of the animal.”

“There shall be placed in the left ear of the animal, by means of a tattoo, a letter representing the season of birth of the animal followed by the letter B representing the Bay of Plenty and East Coast Herd Improvement Association Incorporated.
Every animal shall, in addition, be further identified by means of an identification number which shall, in the case of identification numbers from 1 to 9999, be placed in the right ear by means of a tattoo.
Where any identification number exceeds 9999, every unit of 10,000 in respect of such number shall be denoted by a numeral placed, by means of a tattoo, in the left ear of the animal immediately preceding the alphabetical letters previously referred to, and the remaining numerals of such identification number shall be placed, by means of a tattoo, in the right ear of the animal.”

Where any identification number exceeds 9999, every unit of 10,000 in respect of such number shall be denoted by a numeral placed, by means of a tattoo, in the left ear of the animal immediately preceding the alphabetical letters previously referred to, and the remaining numerals of such identification number shall be placed, by means of a tattoo, in the right ear of the animal.”

Every animal shall, in addition, be further identified by means of an identification number which shall, in the case of identification numbers from 1 to 9999, be placed in the right ear by means of a tattoo.
Where any identification number exceeds 9999, every unit of 10,000 in respect of such number shall be denoted by a numeral placed, by means of a tattoo, in the left ear of the animal immediately preceding the alphabetical letters previously referred to, and the remaining numerals of such identification number shall be placed, by means of a tattoo, in the right ear of the animal.”

“There shall be placed in the right ear of the animal, by means of a tattoo, three or four letters representing the name of the breeder.
In the left ear there shall be placed, by means of a tattoo, an alphabetical letter representing the season of birth of the animal followed by an identification number commencing with number 1 for each breeder at the beginning of each season, the numbers being allocated to the animals in the order of their registration with the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders’ Association Incorporated.”

“There shall be placed in the right ear of the animal, by means of a tattoo, three letters representing the name of the breeder, followed by a letter representing the season of birth of the animal, followed by an identification number commencing at 1 each season for each breeder, the number being allocated to each animal in order of its birth.”

Plant Declared Noxious Weed in Borough of Mount Albert
(Notice No. Ag. 6703)
Pursuant to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Mount Albert Borough Council on the 10th day of March 1959.
SPECIAL ORDER
That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Mount Albert Borough Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, the plant mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being a plant included in the First Schedule to the said Act) to be a noxious weed within the Borough of Mount Albert.
