Notice of Intention to Take Additional Land for a Public School in Block XIII, Otahoua Survey District

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the additional land described in the Schedule hereto for a public school; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land to be taken is deposited in the post office at Gladstone and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT

All that piece of land containing 1 acre, situated in Block XIII, Otahoua Survey District, Wellington R.D., being Lot 93, Deeds Plan 30, being part Section 19, Tupurupuru Block, Township of Gladstone (fronting the western side of Granville Street, about halfway between Featherston and Fitzherbert Streets); as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 158361 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953-Whangarei County (Notice of Extension of Period of Effectiveness of Refusals and Prohibitions)

PURSUANT to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Whangarei County Council in the interests of the Whangarei County district scheme, which refusal or prohibition but for this notice would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of May 1960 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of May 1960.

The Wildlife (Canada Goose) Notice 1959

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Wildlife Act 1953, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby gives the following notice.

NOTICE

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Wildlife (Canada Goose) Notice 1959.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1959.
  2. In this notice "the Act" means the Wildlife Act 1953.
  3. (1) Except in those areas specified in the First Schedule to the Act and in the Wildlife (Canada Goose) Order 1958* in which Canada goose is game, Canada goose may be hunted or killed or had in possession subject to the following conditions:
    (a) No person shall in any acclimatisation district hunt or kill any Canada goose during the period commencing on the 1st day of April in any year and ending with the day immediately preceding the day notified under section 15 of the Act as the date of the commencement of the open season in that district for any species of duck:
    (b) No person shall in any acclimatisation district during the open season in that district for any species of duck declared pursuant to section 15 of the Act hunt or kill or have in his possession any Canada goose otherwise than in accordance with the provisions of the notification declaring that open season:
    Provided that there shall be no limit on the number of Canada geese that may be taken on any one day.
    (2) Except as provided in subclause (1) of this clause, and subject to the provisions of clause 4 of this notice, Canada goose may be hunted or killed or had in possession at any time in any year.
  4. Where any aircraft is used in the hunting or killing of Canada geese, the pilot shall—
    (a) Obtain the prior consent of the occupier of any land over which Canada geese are to be hunted or killed to the use of aircraft over that land; and
    (b) Give to the secretary of the acclimatisation society in whose district the aircraft is to be used, so as to reach the secretary not less than seven clear days before so using the aircraft, written notice of the date and time the aircraft is to be used and the area over which the hunting or killing of Canada geese is to take place, and such other information as the secretary of that society may require.

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Thursday, 26 March 1959, as the time, and the office of the Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Association, Victoria Arcade, Auckland, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of fire insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect two members on the Fire Committee for the Tokoroa Urban Fire District.
