Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice that the portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

The Queenstown-Wanaka via Arrowtown Main Highway No. 119 (from Dungarvon Street to a point 17 chains south-east of Tenby Street).

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

———

PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of 18 years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Customs Holidays

PURSUANT to section 16 of the Customs Act 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General has revoked the appointment of customs holidays as set forth in the Gazette of 15 March 1917, Vol. I, at page 964, and in the Gazette of 5 April 1923, Vol. I, at page 880, and has appointed as days to be kept as public holidays by the Customs in the various parts of New Zealand, such days as the Public Service Commission directs to be observed as Anniversary Days by the Public Service in those places.

Time and Place of Election by Fire Insurance Companies to Fill Positions on the Fire Committee for the Taupo Urban Fire District

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Thursday, 26 March 1959, as the time, and the office of the Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Association, Victoria Arcade, Auckland, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect two members on the Fire Committee for the Taupo Urban Fire District.

PURSUANT to the Fire Services Act 1949, the Minister of Internal Affairs hereby appoints 12 noon on Thursday, 26 March 1959, as the time, and the offices of the Council of Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Associations, 97 The Terrace, Wellington, as the place, for the holding of a meeting of representatives of insurance companies carrying on business in New Zealand to elect three members on the Fire Board for the Hutt Valley and Bays United Urban Fire District.

PURSUANT to section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Waimarino County Council on the 19th day of February 1959.

SPECIAL ORDER

THAT, pursuant to the powers vested in it by the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, section 3, the plant in the Schedule hereto attached shall be declared to be a noxious weed within the district comprising the whole of the County of Waimarino.

Classification of Road in Whakatane County

———

PURSUANT to regulation 3 (11) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1955,* the Commissioner of Transport hereby revokes that Warrant dated the 10th day of April 1957†, in so far as it applies to the road described in the Schedule hereto, and hereby approves the Whakatane County Council’s proposed variation in the classification of the said road as described in the Schedule hereto and situated in Whakatane County.
