Declaring Land Held for a Government Work and Not
Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 3rd day of November 1958.

SCHEDULE
All that piece of land in the Taranaki Land District containing 1 acre 2 roods 20 perches, situated in Block II, Tangitu Survey District, Taranaki R.D., being Section 19; and being all the land in Proclamation No. 1311, Taranaki Land Registry.

Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block XIV, Ngamatea Survey District, for Road (Parapara Road near Kakatahi)

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for road; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Kakatahi and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of the land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE
All that piece of land in the Wellington Land District containing 1 acre and 17 4 perches, situated in Block XIV, Ngamatea Survey District, Wellington R.D., being part Marae- tautaua 3B 3A; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 157428 (S.O. 24068) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange. Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Taranaki County Council (Notice of Extension of Period of Effectiveness of Refusals and Prohibitions)

Pursuant to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Taranaki County Council in the interests of the Taranaki County district scheme which refusal or prohibition but for this notice would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of November 1959 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of November 1959.

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to subsection (10) of section 7 of the Education Amendment Act 1953, the Minister of Education hereby places the Riccarton High School under the Christchurch Post-primary Schools’ Council.

Mobile Fruit Case Making Machines—Exemption From Annual Licence Fees

Pursuant to paragraph (n) of the First Schedule to the Motor Vehicles (Licensing Fees Exemption) Regulations 1948,* any motor vehicle designed and used on the roads exclusively for carrying a mobile fruit case making machine from orchard to orchard shall be exempt from payment of annual licence fees under Part II of the Transport Act 1949.

Pursuant to subclause (4) of regulation 11A of the Motor Vehicles Regulations 1949,* the Minister of Transport hereby (1) declares that the companies, firms, and persons described in the First Schedule hereto shall, to the extent therein described, be approved vendors of motor vehicles, in addition to those already so declared† for the purposes of registration of motor vehicles in terms of the said regulation; and (2) revokes as approved vendors of motor vehicles the companies, firms, and persons described in the Second Schedule hereto.

Extending a 30 Miles per Hour Restriction

Pursuant to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That portion of the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, dated the 9th day of October 1951,* which relates to the Birkenhead-Maungaturoto State Highway No. 5 at Wellsford in Rodney County is hereby revoked.
  2. The portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be closely populated localities for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SCHEDULE
SITUATED within Rodney County—
That portion of the Birkenhead-Maungaturoto State Highway No. 5 at Wellsford from its junction with Davey Road to a point 8 chains north of its junction with School Road.
That portion of School Road at Wellsford from its junction with the Birkenhead-Maungaturoto State Highway No. 5 to a point 24 chains north-west of the said junction.
