DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Dunedin (hereinafter called “the said Corporation”) proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, namely, to provide land for housing purposes in the City of Dunedin, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto requires to be taken, which said land is all the land comprised in Deposited Plan No. 9337, Otago Land Registry; and notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands should, if they have any well grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing and send such writing, within 40 days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk of the said Corporation.

SCHEDULE

THAT piece of land containing 4 acres 3 roods 19·4 poles, being all the land comprised in Deposited Plan 9337, and being part Section 10, Block X, North Harbour and Blueskin Survey District, Otago Land District.

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of one thousand two hundred pounds (£1,200) authorised to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the erection of pensioners’ flats, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of five four-hundredths of a penny (5/400d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Levin, comprising the whole of the Borough of Levin; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NGARUAWAHIA BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Town Hall Loan 1958

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Ngaruawahia Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of four thousand pounds (£4,000) authorised under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of carrying out renovations to the Town Hall, the said Ngaruawahia Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of nine sixteenths pence (⁹⁄₁₆d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Ngaruawahia; and that the special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 17th day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before 12 o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Subscriptions—The subscription is at the rate of £5 5s. per calendar year, including postage, payable in advance.

Single copies of the Gazette as follows:

For the first 16 pages, 6d., increasing by 6d. for every subsequent 8 pages or part thereof.

Advertisements are charged at the rate of 9d. per line for the first insertion, and 6d. per line for the second and any subsequent insertions.

All advertisements should be written on one side of the paper, and signatures, etc., should be written in a legible hand. The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

STATUTORY REGULATIONS

Under the Regulations Act 1936, statutory regulations of general legislative force are no longer published in the New Zealand Gazette, but are supplied under any one or more of the following arrangements:

(1) All regulations serially as issued (punched for filing), subscription £2 per calendar year in advance.

(2) Annual volume (including index) bound in buckram, 35s. per volume. (Volumes for years 1936–37 and 1939–42 are out of print.)

(3) Separate regulations as issued.

The price of each regulation is printed thereon, facilitating the purchase of extra copies.

Orders should be placed with the Government Printer, Publications Branch, Wellington C.1. Separate copies of regulations may also be purchased from the Printing and Stationery Department, 130 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, or from the Chief Post Offices at Auckland and Dunedin.

Member of Board of Maori Affairs Appointed

PURSUANT to section 6 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

The Honourable Eruera Tiheima Tiri katene,

a member of the Executive Council, to be a member of the Board of Maori Affairs.
