Fixing the Rates of Levy on Wool Produced in New Zealand

Pursuant to section 12 (2) of the Wool Industry Act 1944, the New Zealand Wool Board hereby fixes the following rates of levy to be charged on wool for the season commencing on the 1st day of October 1958:

(a) For each bale …… …… …… 3 0
(b) For each fadge …… …… …… 1 6
(c) For each bag or sack …… …… 0 6

Revoking Declaration of Main Highway and Declaring Portions of Public Highway to be Main Highway

Pursuant to section 11 of the National Roads Act 1953, the National Roads Board, acting with written approval of the Minister of Works, hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) The public highway described in the First Schedule hereto shall cease to be main highway.
    (2) The Order in Council made on 7 September 1925* declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be a main highway is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said highway.
    (3) The Order in Council made on 20 May 1948† declaring (inter alia) the said highway to be a main highway is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said highway.

  2. The portions of public highway described in the Second Schedule hereto are hereby declared to be main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the National Roads Act 1953.

  3. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

FIRST SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 14

All that public highway declared as the Ashley-Amberley Main Highway as described in Order in Council dated 2 September 1925.*

Also all that public highway declared as the Amberley-Mt. Brown Main Highway at described in Order in Council dated 2 May 1948.*

SECOND SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 14

Ashley-Amberley M.H. 149: All that portion of road in the Ashley and Kowhai Counties commencing at the junction with the Rangiora-Oxford via Loburn Main Highway No. 111 at the western boundary of Section 1293, Block VI, Rangiora Survey District; thence proceeding in an easterly direction along Fawcetts Road to its junction with Boundary Road on the western boundary of Kowhai County, Block VI, Rangiora Survey District; thence proceeding along Upper Sefton Road in a north-easterly direction through the township of Ashley; thence continuing in a generally north-easterly direction to its junction with the Road and Railway Reserve 2640. Then in a northerly direction through the township of Balcairn and via the road and railway reserve to its junction with Lawcocks Road at the north-east corner of Section 4340, Block XII, Grey Survey District; thence continuing in an easterly direction along Lawcock’s Road to its junction with Douglas Street as a point approximately eight chains north-west of the South Island Main Trunk Railway crossing; thence proceeding in a south-easterly then easterly direction via Douglas Street and Markham Street and terminating at its junction with the Picton-Christchurch State Highway No. 51 in the township of Amberley, being a distance of 13 miles 0 chains, more or less; as is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 156860 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. Of the total length approximately 48 chains is within the boundary of Ashley County and approximately 13 miles 12 chains is within the boundary of Kowhai County.

Amberley-Mt. Brown: All that road or portion of road in the Kowhai County commencing at its junction with the Ashley-Amberley Main Highway 149 in Amberley Township and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly, northerly, and north-westerly direction via Douglas and Mt. Brown Roads and terminating in the north-eastern corner of Section 34683, Block III, Grey Survey District, being a distance of 10 miles, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 156860 deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

    (2) The Order in Council made on 13 November 1934* declaring (inter alia) the portion of public highway described in the Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said portions of public highway.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.

SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 14

Papanui-Harewood M.H. 609: All that portion of road previously in the Waimairi County and now within the City of Christchurch, in Block VI, Christchurch Survey District, commencing at the new Christchurch City boundary at the south-east corner of the intersection with Greers and Bishops Roads, Block VI, Christchurch Survey District; thence proceeding in a generally south-easterly direction via Harewood Road, terminating at the old City boundary, approximately 2 chains beyond the eastern corner of the junction with Wilmot Street in Block VI, Christchurch Survey District, being a distance of 25 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 157057 and thereon coloured red and deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

ROADS COUNCIL DISTRICT No. 14

Christchurch-Selwyn Huts via Lincoln M.H. 188: All that portion of road previously in the Halswell County and now within the City of Christchurch, in Blocks 14 and 15, Christchurch Survey District, commencing at a point in line with the north-east boundary of Lot 6, D.P. 3217, Block 14, Christchurch Survey District; thence proceeding in a generally east-north-easterly direction via Sparks Road, crossing Hoon Hay Road and terminating at the old City boundary approximately 3 chains east of the eastern boundary of D.P. 13533 in Block 15, Christchurch Survey District, being a distance of 57 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 157057, and thereon coloured red and deposited in the office of the National Roads Board at Wellington.

    (2) The Order in Council made on 16 December 1935* declaring (inter alia) the portion of public highway described in the Schedule hereto to be main highway is hereby consequentially amended by revoking so much of the Second Schedule thereto as relates to the said portions of public highway.

  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after the date of its publication in the Gazette.
