PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the
Minister of Railways hereby declares the land described in
the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land
Act 1948 as from the 2nd day of June 1958.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:
- So much of the Warrant under section 36 of the Transport Act 1949 dated the 10th day of April 1952* which relates to Whangamata in Thames County is hereby revoked.
- The area specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

All that area at Whangamata consisting of Whangamata Port Road and Achilles Avenue from their junctions with the Waihi-Coroglen Main Highway No. 586 and all other roads to which these give access.

Locality Declared
PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:
- That Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936 dated the 9th day of November 1939* which relates to an area at Otako in Taranaki County is hereby revoked.
- The portion of road specified in the First Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.
- The portion of road specified in the Second Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956†.

That portion of the New Plymouth-Hawera via Opunake State Highway No. 26 at Okato from a point 15 chains north-west of its junction with Gossling Street to a point 10 chains north-east of its junction with the Okato-Puniho Main Highway No. 358.

That portion of the Okato-Puniho Main Highway No. 358 at Okato from its junction with the New Plymouth-Hawera via Opunake State Highway No. 26 to a point 8 chains south-east of its junction with Curtis Street.

Compulsory Stoppage of Certain Vehicles at Railway Crossings—Provision of Exemptions
PURSUANT to section 46A of the Transport Act 1949 (as inserted by section 11 of the Transport Amendment Act 1953 and as amended by section 12 of the Transport Amendment (No. 2) Act 1953), the Minister of Transport hereby declares that nothing in subsection (1) of the said section 46A shall apply with respect to the railway crossings or classes of railway crossings described in the Schedule hereto.

THE railway crossings situated in the Square in the City of Palmerston North.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
