Limited Speed Zone Declared

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

The portions of roads specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956.*

SCHEDULE

SITUATED within Selwyn County—

That portion of the Christchurch-Timaru State Highway No. 58 at Dunsandel from a point 12 chains south-west of the Dunsandel-Hororata Main Highway No. 196 to a point 24 chains north-east of the said junction.

Also that portion of the Dunsandel-Hororata Main Highway No. 196 at Dunsandel from its junction with the Christchurch-Timaru State Highway No. 58 to a point 24 chains west of the said junction.

SITUATED within Bay of Islands County—

That portion of the Dargaville-Ohaeawai via Waipoua Forest State Highway No. 36 at Ohaeawai from its junction with the Whangarei-Awanui via Kawakawa State Highway No. 1 to a point 24 chains south of the said junction, and that portion of the Whangarei-Awanui via Kawakawa State Highway No. 1 at Ohaeawai from a point 16 chains north-east of its junction with the Dargaville-Ohaeawai via Waipoua Forest State Highway No. 36 to a point 16 chains north-west of the said junction.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936 dated the 29th day of July 1948* which relates to part of the Kaikohe-Maungatapere Main Highway No. 563 and the Waimamaku-Ohaeawai Main Highway No. 484 in Kaikohe Borough is hereby revoked.

  2. That Warrant under regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956 dated the 25th day of June 1957† which relates to part of the Kaikohe-Maungatapere Main Highway No. 563 in Kaikohe Borough is hereby revoked.

  3. The portions of road specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  4. The portions of road specified in the Schedule to this notice are hereby declared to be limited speed zones for the purposes of the Traffic Regulations 1956‡.

SITUATED within Kaikohe Borough—

Those portions of the Dargaville-Ohaeawai via Waipoua Forest State Highway No. 36 from the northern boundary of Kaikohe Borough to the bridge over the Mangamutu Stream, and from a point 20 chains west of its junction with the Kaikohe-Station Main Highway No. 304 to the southern boundary of Kaikohe Borough.

Also that portion of the Kaikohe-Maungatapere Main Highway No. 563 from a point 24 chains south of its junction with the Dargaville-Ohaeawai via Waipoua Forest State Highway No. 36 to the southern boundary of Kaikohe Borough.

PURSUANT to the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. That Warrant under section 3 of the Motor Vehicles Amendment Act 1936, dated the 27th day of March 1947,* which relates to part of the Whakatane-Gisborne via Waioeka State Highway No. 20 at Taneatua, in Whakatane County, is hereby revoked.

  2. The portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

SITUATED within Whakatane County—

That portion of the Whakatane-Gisborne via Waioeka State Highway No. 20 at Taneatua, from a point 4 chains north of its junction with Howell Road to its junction with Station Road.

  2. The portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.

  2. The portion of road specified in the Schedule to this notice is hereby declared to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of section 36 of the Transport Act 1949.
