Declaring Land Taken for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land
PURSUANT to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 13th day of January 1958.
SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land in the Otago Land District containing 3 acres 1 rood, situated in Block IV, Moeraki Survey District, being part Section 2 of 2. All the land in Proclamation No. 4640, Otago Land Registry.

ALL that piece of land in the Marlborough Land District, situated in Blocks XII and XIV, Clifford Bay Survey District, and Blocks II and III, Cape Campbell Survey District, Marlborough. R.D., containing 2,387 acres 2 roods 10 perches, being the balance of the land in Proclamation No. 497, Marlborough Land Registry; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 155136 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Scheme of Control of Waiwhetu Girls’ High School
PURSUANT to section 92 of the Education Act 1914, the Minister of Education hereby approves of Waiwhetu Girls’ High School being controlled on and after the 1st day of June 1958, in accordance with the Standard Scheme of Control for Secondary Schools published in the Gazette of 6 December 1928, Volume III, page 3451:
Provided that:
(a) Clause 7 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Council of the nearest borough within five miles of the school” were omitted, and the words “Lower Hutt City Council” were substituted therefor:
(b) Clause 11 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “Such election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1929” were omitted, and the words “The first such election shall be held not later than the first week of the month of May in the year 1958, and such an election shall be held in the first week of the month of May in the year 1960” were substituted therefor:
(c) Clause 19 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if every reference to the year 1929 were a reference to the year 1960:
(d) Clause 43 of the Standard Scheme shall be read as if the words “The Secretary shall be insured under a fidelity bond for a sum of not less than five hundred pounds” were omitted.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors, shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

PURSUANT to subclause (4) of regulation 11A of the Motor Vehicles Registration and Licensing Regulations 1949,* the Minister of Transport hereby (1) declares that the companies, persons, and firms described in the First Schedule hereto shall, to the extent therein described, be approved vendors of motor vehicles, in addition to those already so declared,† for the purposes of registration of motor vehicles in terms of the said regulation; (2) revokes as approved vendors of motor vehicles the companies, persons, and firms described in the Second Schedule hereto.
