PURSUANT to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
ORDER
-
(1) This order may be cited as the Meringa Rabbit District Order 1958.
(2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette. -
The boundaries of the Meringa Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 29th day of January 1957,* are hereby altered and redefined, and as from the commencement of this order the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE MERINGA RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area of approximately 444,784 acres in the South Auckland and Wellington Land Districts in the Taurarunui and Taupo Counties bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block X, Hurakia Survey District, and running generally easterly up the middle of that river to its source near Trig. Station No. 1390 (Pureora) in Block III, Hurakia Survey District; thence generally south-easterly along the western boundary of part Tihoi No. 3B Block, the western and southern boundaries of Tihoi No. 3B 8A Block, and the western boundaries of part Tihoi No. 3B and Tihoi No. 1 Blocks to the shores of Lake Taupo; thence generally southerly along the shores of Lake Taupo aforesaid, to and up the middle of the Tongariro River to a point in line with a right line between Trig. Station Moturoa in Block XV, Pihanga Survey District, and Trig. Station Tongariro in Block XII, Tongariro Survey District; thence westerly along a right line to Trig. Station Tongariro aforesaid and along another right line between the last-mentioned Trig. Station and the middle of the mouth of the Waihi Stream in Block V, Puketi Survey District, to and generally north-westerly down the right bank of the Wanganui River, along the north-eastern and northern boundaries of the Borough of Taurarunui as described in Gazette, No. 79, of the 25th day of August 1910, page 3231, to and up the middle of the Ongarue River to and generally easterly up the middle of the Mangatukutuku Stream, to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 1 and 2, Block III; Tuhua Survey District, along the western and generally northern boundaries of Section 3, Block IV, of that survey district, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 13, Block XIV, Ongarue Survey District; thence along a right line across a public road to and along that south-eastern boundary, along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 4, 5, and 6, the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Section 1 and the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, the aforesaid sections being of Block IV, Tuhua Survey District, along the generally northern boundary of Section 1, Block I, Puketapu Survey District, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 2, Block I aforesaid; thence along a right line across a public road to and along the south-western and northern boundaries of the last-mentioned Section 2, to and generally northerly along the western and northern boundaries of part Rangitoto Tuhua No. 10 Block, along the north-western boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Hurakia Survey District, and a right line being the last-mentioned boundary produced across a public road to and along the southern and western boundaries of Section 5 and the western boundary of Section 2, the last-mentioned sections being of Block X, Hurakia Survey District, crossing an intervening public road, and along a right line being the last-mentioned western boundary produced to the middle of the Ongarue River, the point of commencement.

The boundaries of the Ohura North Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 28th day of October 1953,* are hereby altered and redefined and as from the commencement of this order the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE
BOUNDARIES OF THE OHURA NORTH RABBIT DISTRICT
ALL that area situated in the Taranaki Land District, being portions of the Taurarunui and Waitomo Counties containing 129,436 acres approximately and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point in the middle of the Ongarue River in line with the southern boundary of the Waitomo County; thence southerly down the middle of the said river to a point in line with the west side of the Okoroa Road; thence north-westerly to and along the said side of this road to the eastern boundary of Section 23, Block I, Rangi Survey District; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 23, 9, and 8 of the said Block I to and across the Opotiki Road; thence south-westerly along the southern side of the said road and the Ararimu East Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of part Section 10, Block I, Rangi Survey District; thence across the last-mentioned road and westerly and southerly along the northern and western boundaries of the said part Section 10 to the north-eastern corner of Section 9, Block IV, Ohura Survey District; thence generally westerly along the northern boundaries of the said Section 9, Section 14, Block VIII, Sections 8 and 2, Block IV, Ohura Survey District, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence southerly and westerly along the western boundary of the said Section 2, across Waitangata Road, and south-westerly by the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Ohura Survey District, to the Tiro Trig. Station; thence south-westerly by a right line to the Wharehanga Trig. Station; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of part Section 9, Block VII, Ohura Survey District, to the boundary between Blocks VII and XI, Ohura Survey District; thence generally westerly along the southern boundary of the aforementioned Block VII to a point in line with the northern side of Huia Road; thence to and generally westerly along the northern side of Huia Road to the eastern boundary of the Ohura Town District, and northerly along the said boundary to the Ohura Road, and generally northerly along that road to the Waite-whena Road, and generally northerly along the Waitewhena Road to the boundary between Blocks II and VI, Ohura Survey District; thence generally westerly along the southern boundary of Blocks II and I, Ohura Survey District, to the Mangakara Stream, and generally northerly up the Mangakara Stream to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 2, Block I, Ohura Survey District; thence to, and generally northerly and easterly along the western and northern boundary of Block I, Ohura Survey District, to the western boundary of Subsection 2 of Section 3, Block XIII, Aria Survey District; thence generally northerly along the western boundary of the aforementioned subsection and also Section 2, Block XIII, Aria Survey District, to the northern boundary of Block XIII, Aria Survey District; thence generally easterly along the northern boundaries of Blocks XIII and XIV, Aria Survey District, to a point 40 chains north-west of Section 26, Block XV, Aria Survey District; thence north-easterly along a right line to a point on the eastern boundary of Block X, Aria Survey District, distant 60 chains north-west of the northernmost corner of the said Section 26; thence generally northerly along the eastern boundary of Block X, Aria Survey District, to the southern boundary of the Waitomo County, and generally easterly along the southern boundary of the Waitomo County as described in Gazette, 1939, pages 1535 and 1536, to the eastern side of Kakara Road in Block IV, Aria Survey District; thence northerly and easterly by the said road to and southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 8, Block IV, Aria Survey District; thence easterly generally by the northern boundaries of Sections 9, 10, and 1, Block V, Tangitu Survey District, to the southern boundary of the Waitomo County, and thence generally easterly by the southern boundary of the Waitomo County and its production to a point in the middle of the Ongarue River, being the point of commencement.
