AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928
NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland City Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act,
to execute a certain public work, namely the construction of
an access way, and for the purpose of such public work the
land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be
taken;

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of
the Town Clerk at the Town Hall, Auckland, and it is open
for public inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary
office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of such land who have well grounded objections
to the execution of the said public work or to the taking
of the said land must state their objections in writing, and
send the same, within 40 days from the first publication of this
notice, to the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Auckland.

SCHEDULE

ELEVEN decimal four perches, more or less, being part of the
piece of land marked “Plantation Reserve” on Deposited Plan
19529, being part of Allotment 28, Parish of Titirangi, and part
of the land comprised and described in certificate of title,
Volume 748, folio 63, Auckland Registry; as the said piece of
land is more particularly delineated and coloured blue on
Survey Office Plan No. 38489.

DANNEVIRKE BOROUGH COUNCIL

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to a resolution
of the Dannevirke Borough Council made on 25 November
1957, an amending district scheme has been recommended for
approval under the Town and Country Planning Act 1953.
The scheme relates to the Borough of Dannevirke. The
scheme has been deposited in the Borough Council Office,
High Street, Dannevirke, and the Public Library, Allardice
Street, Dannevirke, and is there open for inspection without
fee to all persons interested therein at any time when the
above places are open to the public.

Objections to the amending scheme or to any part thereof
shall be in writing in the form No. 4 prescribed in the First
Schedule to the Town and Country Planning Regulations
1954, and shall be lodged at the office of the Council at any
time not later than the 9th day of June 1958. At a later date
every objection will be open for public inspection and any
person who wishes to support or oppose any objection will
be entitled to be heard at the hearing of objections if he
notifies the Town Clerk in writing within a period of which
public notice will be given.

CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER

Highway and Bridges Loan 1956, £25,000

NOTICE is hereby given that, at a special meeting of the
Castlepoint County Council, held at Tinui on 9 December
1957 at 10 a.m., the following resolution was passed by way
of special order:

“That, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested
in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Castlepoint
County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as
follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000)
known as the ‘Highway and Bridges Loan 1956’, authorised
to be raised by the said Castlepoint County Council under
the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing the
Council’s share of the cost of improving and sealing on the
No. 835 Main Highway and for replacing two Riding road
bridges, the said Castlepoint County Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of four-tenths of a penny (4/10d.)
in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable
property in the County of Castlepoint; and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency
of the said loan and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of
April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during
the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above special order was confirmed at the ordinary
meeting of the Castlepoint County Council held at Tinui,
11 February 1958.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

IN accordance with the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies'
Loans Act 1926, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby
resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £17,300 authorised to be raised by the
Whangarei Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of completing the programme of works as
authorised in the Council's General Purposes Loan 1947,
£173,200, the Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 0·08075d. in the pound on the rateable value of all
rateable property in the Borough of Whangarei; and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 2nd day
of December in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being for a period of 20 years, or until the
loan is paid off, and the said Council doth hereby appropriate
and pledge the said special rate as security for the said
loan.”

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Pensioners' Cottage Loan 1957, of £14,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1958, the Upper
Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £14,000 authorised to be raised by the
Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of building pensioners’ cottages in
Liverpool Street, Trentham, the said Upper Hutt Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seventy-
four thousandths of a penny (0·074d.) in the pound on the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property in the Borough of Upper Hutt; and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan and shall be payable yearly on the
1st day of April in each and every year until the loan is
fully repaid.”

The foregoing resolution was passed at the ordinary meeting
of the Upper Hutt Borough Council held in the Council
Chambers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Monday, the 24th
day of February 1958.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Works Loan 1957, £30,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Whakatane
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £30,000 authorised to be raised by the
Whakatane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of constructing streets, kerbing and channelling,
stormwater drainage, and general improvements within
the Borough of Whakatane, the said Whakatane Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 0·6d.
(six tenths of one penny) in the pound, upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property in the Borough of Whakatane, and that such special
rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was passed at a
meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council held on the 28th
day of February 1958.

PORT CHALMERS BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Pensioners' Housing Loan 1955, £4,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act 1933, and the
Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1956, the Port Chalmers Borough
Council hereby resolves:

“That the security for the interest and repayment of the
principal moneys of the said special loan shall be an annually
recurring special rate of three farthings (3d.) in the pound
(£) upon the rateable property within the Borough of Port
Chalmers, comprising the whole of the said borough.”
