Returning Officer for First Election of Members of Kakanui
Range Rabbit Board Appointed (Notice No. Ag. 6469)
—
PURSUANT to section 34 of the Rabbits Act 1955, the
Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation
from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said
Act, hereby appoints
Charles Nelson Brown
to be the Returning Officer to hold the first election of mem-
bers of the Board of the Kakanui Range Rabbit District con-
stited under the said Act, and to prepare the first ratepayers
list for the said district.

PURSUANT to section 109 of the Counties Act 1956, the
Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following
special order made by the Waikouaiti County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 109 of
the Counties Act 1956, the Waikouaiti County Council hereby
resolves by way of special order that:
- Section 107 of the Counties Act 1956 shall cease to
apply to the County of Waikouaiti from the close of the
present financial year, viz., 31 March 1958. - On the taking effect of this special order the separate
riding accounts shall be closed and their balances transferred
to the General Account.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the special
order which was duly made at a special meeting of the
Waikouaiti County Council on Monday, 25 November 1957,
and confirmed at the ordinary meeting of Council held on
Monday, 27 January 1958.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953
—
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of
the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to
the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953,
the said land being so subject by virtue of the provisions of
section 330 (1) of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 and section
6 (2) of the Maori Purposes Act 1939.
