Appointing the Transport Charges Appeal Authority Under the Transport Act 1949

COBHAM, Governor-General

PURSUANT to section 136 of the Transport Act 1949, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby appoints

His Honour Judge Kendrick Gee Archer, of Wellington,

to be the Transport Charges Appeal Authority for a term commencing on the 1st day of January 1958 and expiring on the 31st day of December 1958.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 3rd day of December 1957.

Exempting Leases in the North Auckland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice.


NOTICE

THE leases described in the Schedule hereto are hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.


SCHEDULE

LEASE No. 19635, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, beds, veins, and seams of coal and fireclay in, under, or upon all that parcel of land containing 49 acres and 28 perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 50 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being the residue of the land in certificate of title, Volume 538, folio 202 (limited as to parcels).

Lease No. 20006, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, beds, seams, and strata of coal and fireclay in, under, or upon all that parcel of land containing 26 acres 2 roods 13 perches, more or less, situated in the Kamo Town District, being part of Allotment 51 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Volume 896, folio 20 (limited as to parcels).

Lease No. 20044, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, bed, veins, and seams of coal and fireclay in, under, or upon all that parcel of land containing 71 acres 1 rood 2·8 perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 2 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 529, folio 160 (limited as to parcels).

Lease No. 16721, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, beds, veins, and seams of coal and fireclay in, under, or upon all that parcel of land containing 158 acres 1 rood 13 perches, more or less, being Lots 7, 12, 13, and part Lot 6 on Deposited Plan No. 1583, being part of Allotment 51 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being the whole of the land comprised and described in certificates of title, Volume 1326, folio 100, and Volume 1328, folio 5.

Lease No. 15205, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, beds, veins, and seams of coal, fireclay, and limestone in, under, or upon all that parcel of land containing 118 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Allotments 2 and 51 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Volume 698, folio 107.

Lease No. 15449, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, veins, and seams of coal, fireclay, and limestone in, under, or upon all that parcel of land containing 118 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Allotments 2 and 51 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being all the land in certificate of title, Volume 651, folio 117.

Lease No. 15623, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, beds, veins, and seams of coal, fireclay, and limestone in, under, or upon all that parcel of land containing 118 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Allotments 2 and 51 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Volume 497, folio 85.

Lease No. 20108, registered in the Land Registry Office at Auckland, of the mines, beds, and seams of coal and fireclay and all other minerals in all that piece of land containing 71 acres 1 rood 2·8 perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 2 of the Parish of Whangarei, and being part of the land in certificate of title, Volume 774, folio 189 (limited as to parcels).

Abolishing the Warden’s Court at Naseby

COBHAM, Governor-General

PURSUANT to the Mining Act 1926, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby abolish the Warden’s Court at Naseby, in the Otago Mining District, as from the 31st day of December 1957.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 29th day of November 1957.

Termination of Appointment in the Royal New Zealand Navy

PURSUANT to section 7 of the Naval Defence Act 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General has accepted the resignation of Lieutenant A. C. Goodfellow from the Active List of the Royal New Zealand Navy. He will be placed on the Retired List of Officers on a date to be reported.
