At the Government House at Wellington this 3rd day of December 1957

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

PURSUANT to the Local Government Commission Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby declares that, as on and from the 1st day of April 1958, the area described in the First Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Hawera and included in the County of Hawera, and the areas described in the Second Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the County of Hawera and included in the Borough of Hawera; and with the like advice and consent hereby also declares that the alteration of boundaries of the said borough and the said county hereinbefore made shall be deemed to have been effected under the Municipal Corporations Act 1954.

FIRST SCHEDULE

AREA EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF HAWERA AND INCLUDED IN COUNTY OF HAWERA

ALL that area situated in the Borough of Hawera commencing at a point on the northern side of the South Road being the south-western corner of Section 545, Patea District, and thence proceeding northerly along the western boundary of the said Section 545 to and across High Street and generally easterly along the northern side of High Street to a point in line with the production of the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 5341; thence northerly to and along the eastern boundary of Lot 1, D.P. 5341, to and across an unnamed road; thence easterly along the northern boundary of the said road and southerly by the extremity of the said unnamed road and the eastern boundary of Section 546, Patea District, to and across High Street; thence southerly by the eastern boundary of Section 545, Patea District, to the northern side of South Road, and thence generally westerly by the northern side of South Road to the south-western corner of Section 545, Patea District, being the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE

AREAS EXCLUDED FROM COUNTY OF HAWERA AND INCLUDED IN BOROUGH OF HAWERA

ALL that area situated in the County of Hawera commencing at a point being the easternmost corner of Lot 6, D.P. 7853, and proceeding generally westerly by the south-eastern and south-western boundary of the said Lot 6, D.P. 7853, and its continuation to the north-western side of Tawhiti Road; thence north-easterly along the north-western side of Tawhiti Road to the north-eastern corner of Lot 17, D.P. 3600; thence by a right line to the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 7853, and south-easterly by the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 1, 2, and 6, D.P. 7853, to the easternmost corner of Lot 6, D.P. 7853, being the point of commencement.

Also, all that area situated in the County of Hawera, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the boundary of the Borough of Hawera as described in Gazette, 1925, at page 1776, being the northernmost corner of Lot 1, D.P. 3335, and proceeding northerly across Glover Road along a right line to and northerly along the eastern side of Waihi Road to Fantham Street and generally easterly and south-easterly along the southern side of Fantham Street to a point on the north-eastern boundary of part Lot 8, D.P. 1022, in line with the south-eastern side of an unnamed road crossing the Wellington - New Plymouth Railway and defined on S.O. Plan 5950; thence along a right line to and along that side to the north-eastern side of the said railway; thence south-easterly along that north-eastern side to the northern boundary of the Borough of Hawera; thence westerly generally along that boundary to the point of commencement.
