BOROUGH OF WESTPORT

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies Loans Act 1926, the Westport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £28,000 authorised to be raised by the Westport Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of improving the waterworks and carrying out improvements to footpaths, streets, drainage, and purchasing machinery, the said Westport Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fourpence (4d.) in the pound upon the rateable property of the Borough of Westport, comprising the whole of the Borough of Westport, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We, John Watson and Percival Morgan, Mayor and Town Clerk respectively, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolutions are true and correct extracts of the minutes of proceedings of the Westport Borough Council at a meeting of the council held on the 18th day of February 1957.

PALMERSTON NORTH CITY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Stormwater, Footpaths, and Roading Loan 1957, £185,000

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and all other powers in that behalf thereunto enabling it, the Palmerston North City Council doth hereby resolve as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £185,000 authorised to be raised by the Palmerston North City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of installing stormwater drains and forming footpaths and roads, the said Palmerston North City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five hundred and thirty-one one-thousandths of a penny (0·531d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value (upon the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Palmerston North, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring special rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of the resolution passed at a meeting of the Palmerston North City Council held on the 29th day of October 1957.

KAIKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Sydney Street Development Loan 1957 of £4,200

Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Kaikohe Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of four thousand two hundred pounds (£4,200), authorised to be raised by the Kaikohe Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of developing Sydney Street and providing for the disposal of stormwater, the said Kaikohe Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of three-eighth pence (⅜d.) in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Kaikohe; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Kaikohe Borough Council held on the 18th day of November 1957.

BRUNNER BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

The Brunner Borough Council hereby resolves:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £16,000, known as the Water Supply Loan 1957, authorised to be raised by Brunner Borough Council pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 for the purpose of installing a water supply within a special area in the Borough of Brunner, the said Brunner Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of one penny in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property within a special rating area in the Borough of Brunner, comprising the whole of Dobson, Wallsend, and Brunner Townships, and Taylorville, excluding Lower Taylorville, as is shown in a special rate roll deposited for inspection in the Brunner Borough Council Office at Wallsend; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty years, or, until the loan is fully paid off.”

The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Brunner Borough Council, held at the Council Chambers, Wallsend, on the 21st day of November 1957.

MALVERN ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, and all other powers enabling it thereto, the Malvern Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, repayment of principal, and other charges on a loan of £40,000 to be raised by the Malvern Electric Power Board under the provisions of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 for the purpose of providing moneys for the further reticulation of the board’s district and for the provision of additional staff houses, garage, stores and office accommodation, and centralised load control equipment, the Malvern Electric Power Board makes and levies a special rate of fourteen one-hundredths of a penny (14/100d.) in the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in the Malvern Electric Power District, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
