NELSON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
in the matter of the Public Works Act 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Nelson City Council proposes,
under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute
a certain public work, namely, the acquisition of land for
street purposes; and for such purposes the lands described in
the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is
hereby further given that a plan of the lands so
required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Town Clerk to the said Council situate in Trafalgar Street,
and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during
ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of
the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have
any well grounded objections to the execution of the said
public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their
objections in writing and send same within forty days from
the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the
Council Chambers, Trafalgar Street.

BOROUGH OF ROTORUA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Jackson Park Purchase Loan 1957, £25,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Rotorua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges
on a loan of twenty-five thousand pounds (£25,000) to be
known as the Rotorua Borough Jackson Park Purchase Loan
1957, £25,000, authorised to be raised by the Rotorua
Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of purchasing 75 acres of land to be used for
housing subdivision, reserves, and a hospital site, the Rotorua
Borough Council hereby makes a special rate of decimal
one nine five pence (0·195d.) in the pound upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property in the Borough of Rotorua; and that the said
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of the said loan and shall be payable yearly on
the 1st day of April in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or
until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting
of the Rotorua Borough Council held on 29 October 1957.

BOROUGH OF ROTORUA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Stormwater Drainage Loan 1957, £35,000
PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the
Rotorua Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges
on a loan of thirty-five thousand pounds (£35,000) to be
known as the Rotorua Borough Stormwater Drainage Loan
1957, £35,000, authorised to be raised by the Rotorua Borough
Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of
installing piped stormwater drains in various parts of the
Borough, the Rotorua Borough Council hereby makes a
special rate of decimal two seven four pence (0·274d.)
in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough
of Rotorua; and that the said special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of the said loan and shall
be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting
of the Rotorua Borough Council held on 29 October 1957.

UPPER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Footpaths Construction Loan No. 2, 1957, of £20,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Upper
Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £20,000 authorised to be raised by the
Upper Hutt Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of carrying out paving, kerbing, and channel-
ling of footpaths, the said Upper Hutt Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of one-quarter of a penny in
the pound (0·25d. in the £) on the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the
Borough of Upper Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and
every year until the loan is fully paid.”
The foregoing resolution was passed at a special meeting of
the Upper Hutt Borough Council held in the Council Cham-
bers, Main Road, Upper Hutt, on Wednesday, the 30th day of
October 1957.

WAITAKI COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Enfield Water Supply Loan 1957, £10,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the
Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waitaki County Council
hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of ten thousand pounds (£10,000) author-
ised to be raised by the Waitaki County Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the provision of a
water supply scheme for the Enfield Water Race District, the
said Waitaki County Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of 0·259 pence in the pound upon the rateable
value, on the basis of the capital value, of all rateable pro-
perty of the special rating area comprising the Enfield Water
Race District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the first day of September in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

KAITAIA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION ON MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Sewerage Loan No. 1, 1954, of £50,000—Third Issue of £15,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Kaitaia
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other
charges on a loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the
said Kaitaia Borough Council under the above-mentioned
Act for the purpose of developing and constructing a sewerage
disposal scheme within the Borough of Kaitaia, the said
Kaitaia Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 0·60 of one penny in one pound (£1) on all rateable
property of the Borough of Kaitaia; and that such rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

OTAGO CENTRAL ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Extensions Loan 1957, £20,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Otago Central
Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of twenty thousand pound (£20,000) author-
ised to be raised by the Otago Central Electric Power Board
under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of further
reticulating the Otago Central Electric Power District, the said
Otago Central Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies
a special rate of one-twentieth (1/20) of a penny in the pound
upon the capital value of the rateable property in the whole
of the Board’s district of supply; which special rate is hereby
permanently appropriated and pledged as security for repay-
ment of the said special loan and interest thereon.”
