Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940
PURSUANT to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

The Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957, Amendment No. 9
PURSUANT to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby gives the following notice:

This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957, Amendment No. 9, and shall be read together with and deemed to be part of the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

This notice shall come into force on the 8th day of November 1957.

The principal notice shall cease to apply in respect of the services set out in the Schedule hereto.

The principal notice is hereby consequentially amended by omitting from the Schedule thereto all references to the services referred to in the Schedule hereto in respect of which, pursuant to clause 3 hereof, the principal notice no longer applies.

Trade Marks—Goods, the Importation of Which is Prohibited
PURSUANT to the Merchandise Marks Act 1954, goods of the nature set forth hereunder, to which the trade mark described below or any mark so nearly resembling the same as to be calculated to deceive has been falsely applied in infringement of the registered trade mark of Thermos Ltd., Seymour Road, Leyton, London E. 10, are prohibited from importation.
If any such goods are imported they will be liable to detention and to be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
A trade mark is deemed, for the purposes of the aforesaid Act, to be falsely applied to goods if it is applied without the assent of the proprietor of such trade mark.

Law Practitioners Act 1955
PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand Law Society, on the 27th day of September 1957, on the application of Fergus Gale Dunlop, ordered that his name be removed from the rolls of barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, and that he pay the sum of twenty-five guineas costs.

Plants Declared Noxious Weeds in the County of Waimea (Notice No. Ag. 6419)
PURSUANT to the Noxious Weeds Act 1950, the Director-General of Agriculture, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Agriculture for the purposes of the said Act, hereby publishes the following special order made by the Waimea County Council on the 11th day of October 1957.
SPECIAL ORDER
THAT the following plants be declared a noxious weed within the Waimea County, namely:
Cape tulip (Homeria collina).
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes).

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the above draft New Zealand standard specification is being circulated.
All persons who may be affected by this specification and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the N.Z. Standards Institute, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C.1.
The closing date for the receipt of comment is 31 January 1958.

Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Maniapoto Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 19 July 1938 and published in the Gazette, 21 July 1938, Volume II, page 1702.
