Remembrance Day 1957
CITIZENS and traffic-control authorities throughout New Zealand are requested to observe Remembrance Day on Sunday, 10 November 1957. In future this day will be observed on the second Sunday of November of each year.
The observance of this day should be similar to that of Remembrance Day last year. Two minutes’ silence to be observed from 11 a.m. and all vehicular traffic to halt during that period.
The New Zealand Government trusts that churches will agree to arrange, as far as practicable, for a morning service on this day to commence at 10.45 a.m., and that two minutes’ silence be observed at 11 o’clock.
Where a citizens’ memorial service is held, it is suggested that it should be at the local cenotaph or war memorial, as the case may be.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Piako County: Notice of Extension of Period of Effectiveness of Refusals and Prohibitions
PURSUANT to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Piako County Council in the interests of the Piako County District Scheme, which refusal or prohibition but for this notice would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of November 1958 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of November 1958.

Town and Country Planning Act 1953—Taupo County
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, the approval granted to the Taupo County Council on the 28th day of February 1956 to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by two sections as described in Gazette, No. 31, of 31 May 1956, page 721, has been varied, and approval has now been granted to the Taupo County Council to prepare, recommend, and approve its district scheme by three sections as follows:
- Eastern Lakeshore Section described in Gazette, No. 31, of 31 May 1956, page 721.
- Tongariro Riding Section comprising the whole of the Tongariro Riding described in Gazette, No. 32, of 5 May 1955, page 735.
- The remainder of the County.
