Commendation for Valuable Services in the Air

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to give orders, under the authority delegated to His Excellency by the Queen, for the publication of the name of

William John Pentecost, of Rotorua,

who has been commended for valuable services in the air.

Licensing John Frederick Salthouse and Robert Edward Wild to Use and Occupy a Part of the Foreshore at Greenhithe, Auckland Harbour, as a Site for a Boat-building Shed

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby authorises and permits John Frederick Salthouse and Robert Edward Wild (hereinafter called the licensees, which term shall include their executors, administrators, or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Greenhithe, Auckland Harbour, as shown on plan marked M.D. 10266 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining a boat-building shed thereon as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the licensees upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The premium payable by the licensees shall be five pounds (£5) and the annual sum so payable ten pounds (£10).

  3. The term of this licence shall be fourteen years from the first day of September 1957.

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 25 January 1938 and published in the Gazette, 27 January 1938, Volume I, page 118.
