WAIHI BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Abattoir (Dwelling) Loan 1957, £3,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Waihi Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of three thousand pounds (£3,000) authorised to be raised by the Waihi Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a staff dwelling, the said Waihi Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of one penny (¾d.) in the pound on the basis of unimproved value of all rateable property within the Borough of Waihi; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is paid off.”
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Waihi Borough Council held on the 16th day of September 1957.

CHEVIOT COUNTY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
THE following resolution was passed at an ordinary meeting of the Cheviot County Council held on 13 September 1957.
Pursuant to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Cheviot Council Council hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £6,500 authorised to be raised by the Cheviot County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the erection of two staff houses in Cheviot Township, the said Cheviot County Council hereby makes a special rate of one-tenth of a penny (1/10d.) in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property in the County of Cheviot; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

SOUTHLAND CATCHMENT BOARD
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Waikaka River Works Loan 1956, £9,160
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, and all other powers in that behalf it enabling, the Southland Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £9,160 known as the Waikaka River Works Loan 1956, authorised to be raised by the Southland Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of meeting the Board’s share of the cost of improvements to the Waikaka River from its confluence with the Mataura River for a distance of approximately ten (10) miles, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate on a graduated scale according to a classification made for the purposes of such rate of the lands within that part of the Southland Catchment District defined in the Schedule hereto and known as the ‘Waikaka River Rating District’ as follows:
Forty-five pence (45d.) in the pound (£) of the rateable unimproved value of lands classified as Class A;
Fifteen decimal seven five pence (15·75d.) in the pound (£) of the rateable unimproved value of lands classified as Class B;
Eleven decimal two five pence (11·25d.) in the pound (£) of the rateable unimproved value of lands classified as Class C;
Four decimal five pence (4·5d.) in the pound (£) of the rateable unimproved value of lands classified as Class D;
and
Two decimal two five pence (2·25d.) in the pound (£) of the rateable unimproved value of lands classified as Class E;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
SCHEDULE
THE WAIKAKA RIVER RATING DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland Land District included in the Special Rating Classification List made by the Southland Catchment Board for the Waikaka River Rating District in accordance with Classification Plan No. 119 deposited in the offices of the Board, 143 Spey Street, Invercargill.
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Southland Catchment Board held on the 18th day of September 1957.

Waihopai River Works Loan 1957, £16,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act 1941, and all other powers in that behalf it enabling, the Southland Catchment Board hereby resolves as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £16,000 known as the Waihopai River Works Loan 1957, authorised to be raised by the Southland Catchment Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of meeting the Board’s share of the cost of improvements to the Waihopai River from Racecourse Road for a distance of approximately twenty (20) miles, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate on a graduated scale according to a classification made for the purposes of such rate of the lands within that part of the Southland Catchment District defined in the Schedule hereto and known as the ‘Waihopai River Rating District’ as follows:
Fourteen decimal two eight pence (14·28d.) in the pound (£) of the rateable unimproved value of lands classified as Class A; and
Four decimal nought eight pence (4·08d.) in the pound (£) of the rateable unimproved value of lands classified as Class B;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and shall be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
SCHEDULE
THE WAIHOPAI RIVER RATING DISTRICT
ALL that area in the Southland Land District included in the Special Rating Classification List made by the Southland Catchment Board for the Waihopai River Rating District in accordance with Classification Plan No. 24 deposited in the offices of the Board, 143 Spey Street, Invercargill.
The foregoing resolution was passed at a meeting of the Southland Catchment Board held on the 18th day of September 1957.

LOWER HUTT CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Transport Centre Loan 1957, £150,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the Lower Hutt City Council hereby resolved as follows:
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£150,000) authorised to be raised by the Lower Hutt City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a bus station in Lower Hutt together with shops and offices, the said Lower Hutt City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and four hundred and seven-seven thousandths of a penny (1·477d.) in the pound (£) on the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property in the City of Lower Hutt; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on or about the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is paid off.”
I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Lower Hutt City Council held on the 21st day of June 1957.
