Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Ruatoki Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of
the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said
land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 7 May 1940
and published in the Gazette, 9 May 1940, Volume I, page
1036.

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956, the
Secretary for Internal Affairs hereby publishes the following
special order made by the Rangitikei County Council.

SPECIAL ORDER

PURSUANT to section 88 of the Counties Act 1956 the Rangitikei
County Council hereby resolves by way of special order
that the land described in the following Schedule shall be a
Riding of the Rangitikei County to be known as the Bulls
Town Riding.

SCHEDULE

BULLS TOWN RIDING

ALL that area in the County of Rangitikei bounded by a line
commencing at the south-western corner of Lot 50, as shown
on the plan numbered 402, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence northerly along the
western boundary of that lot, the abutment of a road and
the western boundaries of Lots 44, 40, 39, 38, 37; 36, 35, 34,
33, and 32 as shown on the said plan numbered 402, to the
south-eastern boundary of Lot 12 as shown on Deeds Plan
463 lodged in the office of the District Land Registrar at
Wellington; thence south-westerly along that boundary and
the south-eastern boundary of Lot 11 as shown on that plan,
to the southernmost corner of that lot; thence north-westerly
along the south-western boundaries of Lot 11 aforesaid, Lot
9, and part Block II, Rangitikei District, as shown on the
said Deeds Plan 463, and Lot 1 as shown on Deeds Plan 328
lodged as aforesaid, to the south-eastern side of the Scotts
Ferry-Bulls Main Highway; thence north-easterly along that
highway to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary
of Lot 13, as shown on the plan numbered 1753 deposited
as aforesaid; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary
to the northernmost corner of that lot; thence north-easterly
generally along the north-western boundary of Lot 2, as
shown on the plan numbered 1753 aforesaid, and its production across Johnston Street, along the north-eastern side
of that street to and along the north-western and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered
8526, deposited as aforesaid, to and along part of the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 1 as shown on
the plan numbered 5674 deposited as aforesaid, to the southernmost corner of that part of Block III, Rangitikei District, as shown on the plan numbered 12006 deposited as
aforesaid, along the south-eastern boundaries of that land to
and along the western side of the Wanganui-Levin State
Highway to the south-eastern corner of Lot 9 as shown on
Deeds Plan 57, lodged as aforesaid, across the aforesaid highway to the westernmost corner of the land as shown on the plan numbered 20754 lodged in the office of the Chief
Surveyor, at Wellington; thence easterly along the northern
boundaries of that land and Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered 14199 deposited as aforesaid, the southern and south-western boundaries of Lot 1 as shown on the plan numbered
11827 deposited as aforesaid, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary across the Waiouru-Bulls State Highway;
thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of that highway to the south-western side of the closed road formerly
comprised on certificate of title, Volume 190, folio 125,
Wellington Registry; thence south-westerly along that side
of the said closed road and its production to the middle of
the Rangitikei River; thence south-westerly down the middle
of that river to a point in line with the western boundary of
Lot 50 as shown on the plan numbered 402 aforesaid; thence
northerly along a right line to the south-western corner of the
said Lot 50, being the point of commencement.

This is to certify that the above special order was passed
by the Rangitikei County Council at a special meeting held
on the 11th day of July 1957, and confirmed at the ordinary
monthly meeting of the Council held on the 12th day of
September 1957.

In testimony thereof the Common Seal of the Chairman,
Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Rangitikei was
hereunto affixed this 12th day of September 1957 in the presence of—
