Declaring Lands in Canterbury Land District, Vested in the Canterbury Education Board as Sites for Public Schools, to be Vested in Her Majesty the Queen

A PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any school site or part of a school site which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be vested in Her Majesty, and thereupon the school site or part thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in Her Majesty, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date of the Proclamation:
Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the said Act, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto, being areas vested in the Canterbury Education Board as sites for public schools, shall be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.
SCHEDULE
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT
Lots 12 and 13, D.P. 273, being part Rural Section 231, situated in Block XII, Christchurch Survey District, City of Christchurch: Total area, 1 acre 3 roods 39 perches, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 69, folio 56.

Also part Rural Section 21176, situated in Block IX, Pareora Survey District: Area, 1 acre 1 rood 28.8 perches, more or less. Balance certificate of title, Volume 139, folio 151. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/1226E deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

A PROCLAMATION
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the 30th day of June 1954, published in Gazette, 8 July 1954, Volume II, page 1100, and deposited in the Land Registry Office at Marlborough as No. 22167, setting apart Crown land for road in Block III, Cloudy Bay Survey District, and Block XV, Linkwater Survey District, in so far as it affects the land described in the First Schedule hereto; and declare that the Crown land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for road; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 30th day of September 1957.
FIRST SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of land in the Marlborough Land District containing 2 roods 34Β·5 perches, situated in Block III, Cloudy Bay Survey District, being part of the bed of Tuamarina River; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 143581 (S.O. 4122) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.
SECOND SCHEDULE
ALL that piece of Crown land in the Marlborough Land District containing 2 roods 25Β·5 perches, situated in Block III, Cloudy Bay Survey District, Marlborough R.D., being that part of the bed of Tuamarina River fronting the public road; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 154368 (S.O. 4122, amending diagram) deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured orange.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 19th day of September 1957.
