The Otokia Rabbit District Order 1957 (Notice No. Ag. 6358)

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order:
ORDER

  1. (1) This order may be cited as the Otokia Rabbit District Order 1957.
    (2) This order shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
  2. The boundaries of the Otokia Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 8th day of March 1955, are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order, the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
    SCHEDULE
    BOUNDARIES OF THE OTOKIA RABBIT DISTRICT
    ALL that area in the Taieri County of the Otago Land District containing 60,200 acres, more or less, and bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Kaikorai Stream; thence generally south-westerly along the mean high-water mark of the ocean to the mouth of the Taieri River; thence generally north-westerly along the north-eastern bank of the Taieri River to Henley; thence generally north-easterly along the south-eastern bank of the Taieri River to a point in line with the south-western boundary of the Town of Allanton; thence south-easterly to and across the Main South Railway; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of that railway to Riccarton Road; thence south-easterly along that road to and across the Dunedin-Gore State Highway; thence generally easterly along the southern side of that highway to the Mosgiel-Middlemarch-Dunback Main Highway, also known as Junction Road; thence northerly along the eastern boundary of that road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 24, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that Section 24 and Section 25 and north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Section 25 to Gladstone Main Highway; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of the Central Otago Railway; thence north-westerly to and along that boundary to the south-eastern boundary of Section 10, Block V, East Taieri Survey District; thence to and south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 11 and 12, Block V, Closed Road, and Sections 7, 8, 16, 14, 10, 11, and 12, Block VI, to Gordon Road; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Gordon Road to Muirs Halfway Bush Road; thence to and south-westerly along the north-western boundary of that road to the north-eastern boundary of Section 8, Block XVII, East Taieri Survey District; thence generally north-westerly along the north-eastern boundaries of Section 8 aforesaid, Section 59, Irregular Block, East Taieri Survey District, Sections 33 and 29, Block I, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, to the northern-most corner of that Section 29; thence generally north-easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 1 of 28, 2 of 28, 3 of 28, 26, 26A, and again Section 26, Block I aforesaid, to the Taioma North-Taieri Road; thence to and north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of that road to and generally easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 5, 26, 27, D.P. 3342, Sections 1136R and 38, Block II; thence to and north-easterly along the western boundary of Block III, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District to its northern boundary; thence easterly along the northern boundary of Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District to Trig. S., Swampy Spur; thence generally south-westerly along the eastern boundaries of Section 3, the crossing of a road, Sections 11, 10, and 9, the crossing of a road, Sections 55, 54, and the south-eastern boundary of 53, Block V, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District, to the boundary of the City of Dunedin; thence generally south-westerly along the boundary of the City of Dunedin as described in Gazette of 19 April 1956, at pages 532 and 533, to its junction with the boundary of the Borough of Green Island at a point in the centre of Townley's Road on the south-eastern boundary of Section 45, Block VI, Dunedin and East Taieri Survey District; thence generally south-westerly along the north-western boundary of the Borough of Green Island as described in Gazette of 28 July 1955, at pages 1195 and 1196, to the Kaikorai Stream; thence generally south-westerly down the centre of the Kaikorai Stream to its mouth the point of commencement.

Declaring the Lumsden Hills Rabbit District and the Longridge Rabbit District to be United to Form the Long-ridge Rabbit District (Notice No. Ag. 6357)

ORDER IN COUNCIL
At the Government House at Wellington this 14th day of August 1957
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to the Rabbits Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, at the request of the Minister of Agriculture made on the recommendation of the Rabbit Destruction Council, hereby declares the Lumsden Hills Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 15th day of June 1955, and the Long-ridge Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 15th day of December 1953, to be united and to form one district having the name of the Longridge Rabbit District, and further declares that the basis on which the Rabbit Board to be established for the said district shall first levy its general rate shall be the acreage of the land occupied by the ratepayer.

Setting Apart Maori Freehold Land as a Maori Reservation

HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL
Pursuant to section 439 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby sets apart the Maori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto as a Maori reservation for the common use and benefit of the members of the Wahiao and Tuhourangi subtribes as a meeting place and dining-room site.

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby directs the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was taken.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold: 31.52 perches.
Being part Lot 1, D.P. 8588, being part Section 39, Block V, Lower Kaikorai Survey District.
Situated in the Green Island Borough. (S.O. 12419.)
In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 14923 deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
