whichever rate returns the higher duty

*Plus surtax at the rate of nine-fortieths of the amount of duty. Where it is indicated in the column headed "British Preferential" that surtax is payable, such surtax relates only to goods being the produce or manufacture of Canada, Pakistan, Union of South Africa, India, and the Republic of Ireland.

Vide the Customs Tariff (Toilet Sets and Combs) Order 1957 and the Customs Surtax (Toilet Sets and Combs) Exemption Order 1957.

ERRATUM
The cancellation appearing in Part III of Tariff Order 230 reading "262 (2) .. Cases of material containing . . . containers for cosmetics. (See revised decision.)" should be amended to read "262 (2) .. Cases of any material containing—(d) sets of empty bottles and/or other containers for cosmetics. (See revised decision.)".
