THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby grants to Alexander Edgar Allan, of Rata Peaks, Peel Forest (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), a licence, subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to take and use from Power Creek (hereinafter referred to as the said stream), situated in S.G.R. 126, Mount Peel Survey District, in the County of Geraldine, for the purpose hereinafter set forth, a stream of water not exceeding 1 cubic foot per second at any one time.
CONDITIONS
IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Water Power Regulations 1934 and the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated in and shall form part of this licence, except in so far as the same may be inconsistent with the provisions hereof.
LICENCE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS
2. This licence is issued under the Water Power Regulations 1934, and is subject thereto, and to the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and to all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
UTILISATION OF WATER AND LOCATION OF HEADWORKS
3. Water shall be used under this licence solely for the purpose of generating electricity and shall be taken from the said stream at the point in S.G.R. 126, Mount Peel Survey District, indicated on the plan marked P.W.D. 92068 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORKS
4. The licensee is hereby authorised, subject to the conditions hereof, to construct, maintain, and use the following works for the purpose of this licence, the positions of the said works being indicated on the said plan P.W.D. 92068.
(a) Headworks consisting of an intake with water race and pipelines leading to the powerhouse hereinafter referred to, giving a static head of approximately 187 ft.
(b) Pelton wheel and powerhouse with all necessary equipment for generating electricity, situated in S.G.R. 126, Mount Peel Survey District.
(c) Tail race leading from the said powerhouse back to the said stream.
SYSTEM OF SUPPLY
5. The system of supply shall be a direct-current system as described in paragraph (d) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.
DURATION OF LICENCE
6. Unless sooner lawfully determined this licence shall continue in force until the 31st day of March 1978.

7. For the purpose of assessing the rental or annual sum payable in respect of this licence the maximum generating capacity of the plant at the commencement of this licence is 7Β·5 kilowatts.

Authorising the Kaikoura County Council to Erect and Use Electric Lines in Portion of the Kaikoura County

THE RIGHT HON. S. G. HOLLAND PRESIDING IN COUNCIL
PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby authorises the Kaikoura County Council (hereinafter referred to as the licensee), subject to the conditions hereinafter set forth, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto.

IMPLIED CONDITIONS
- The conditions directed to be implied in all licences by the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935 and the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935 shall be incorporated herein and shall form part of this licence except in so far as they may be inconsistent with the provisions of this licence.

The licence hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935, the Electrical Wiring Regulations 1935, the Radio Interference Regulations 1934, and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor respectively.
SYSTEMS OF SUPPLY
3. The systems of supply shall be as described in paragraphs (a), (f), and (h) of regulation 21-01 of the Electrical Supply Regulations 1935.
DURATION OF LICENCE
4. Unless sooner determined, this licence shall continue in force until the 4th day of July 1963.
SCHEDULE
AREA OF SUPPLY
LINES for the supply of electrical energy by the systems of supply hereinbefore described within that area in the Marlborough Land District, Kaikoura County, Blocks I, II, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, XIII, Mount Fyffe Survey District, containing an area of 14,630 acres, and bounded by a line commencing at a point in Block VIII, Mount Fyffe Survey District on the mean high-water mark of the sea in line with the north side of Schoolhouse Road; thence proceeding westerly generally by a straight line to and across the S.I.M.T. Railway to the north side of Schoolhouse Road; thence westerly and south-westerly generally by the north side of Schoolhouse Road across the Picton-Christchurch State Highway, Mount Fyffe Road, and Red Swamp Road, and by a straight line being the continuation of the north side of Schoolhouse Road to the centre line of the Kowhai River; thence north-westerly generally by the centre line of the Kowhai River to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 53, Kincaid Run, Kaikoura Registration District, in Block XIII, Mount Fyffe Survey District; thence north-easterly by a straight line across a road to the north-western boundary of Section 53 aforesaid and by that boundary to the northernmost point of Section 53 aforesaid; thence easterly generally by the northern boundaries of Sections 53, 54, 55, 56, 60, and 61, Kincaid Run, Kaikoura Registration District, to a public road along the eastern boundary of Section 61 aforesaid; thence northerly by the west side of that road and easterly by the northern boundaries of that road and Sections 328, 327, 313, 312, 306, Kaikoura Suburban Registration District, Sections C and B, Pukaka Maori Block, and across the Waimangarara River; thence southerly by the east bank of the Waimangarara River, a distance of 10 chains; thence north-easterly generally 5 chains by a straight line to the western boundary of Section 5, Block IV, Mount Fyffe Survey District: thence northerly and easterly generally by the western and northern boundaries of Sections 5, 6, Block IV, Sections 1 and 2, Block I, and by the continuation of the north-western boundary of the said Section 2, Block I, to the centre line of Long Creek; thence south-easterly generally by the centre line of Long Creek and the centre line of the Hapuku River to its mouth; thence south-westerly generally to mean high water and by mean high-water mark south-westerly to the point of commencement.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.H.D. 447 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
