Approval of Testing Officer Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Declaring Portion of Road to be Limited Speed Zone for the Purposes of Regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956

Pursuant to subclause (2) of regulation 27 of the Traffic Regulations 1956,* the Minister of Transport hereby declares that portion of road described in the Schedule hereto to be a limited speed zone for the purposes of the said regulation.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the person hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:
A motor driver’s licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the person described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise him to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of his employment for the employer described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise him, while he is under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.

Revoking a Warrant Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality, and Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Transport Act 1949, Section 36

Pursuant to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes that Warrant dated the 6th day of March 1939* relating to closely populated localities at Turakina in Rangitikei County, and hereby declares the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality to the intent that a person driving any motor vehicle on any road therein shall be subject to the maximum speed limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

Situated within Rangitikei County—
All that area at Turakina consisting of:
(1) The Wanganui-Levin State Highway No. 12 commencing at Turakina Beach Road and terminating at a point 22 chains measured along the said State highway in a south-easterly direction from its junction with the Turakina - Cliff Road via Marton Main Highway No. 367.
(2) The Turakina - Cliff Road via Marton Main Highway No. 367 commencing at its junction with the Wanganui-Levin State Highway No. 12 and terminating at a point 5 chains measured along the said main highway in a north-easterly direction from the said junction.
