PURSUANT to section 301 of the Justices of the Peace Act 1927, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby authorises Raymond Malcolm Velvin,
being District Administration Officer, Lands and Survey Department, Christchurch, to take and receive statutory declarations under that section.

PURSUANT to section 16 of the New Zealand Army Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand Army:
COLONELS’ LIST Regular Force
Brigadier C. L. Pleasants, C.B.E., D.S.O., M.C., E.D., B.A., relinquishes the appointment of Commander, 1st Infantry Brigade. Dated 1 April 1957.
HEADQUARTERS, N.Z. DIVISION
Colonel J. R. Dawson, E.D., M.B., CH.B., F.R.A.C.S., R.N.Z.A.M.C., relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Director of Medical Services, Headquarters, N.Z. Division, and is posted to Headquarters, Southern Military District. Dated 1 April 1957.
Lieutenant-Colonel D. McK. Jack, E.D., M.B., CH.B., R.N.Z.A.M.C., from the Reserve of Officers, Regimental List, 1st Field Ambulance, R.N.Z.A.M.C., to be Colonel, and is appointed Assistant Director of Medical Services, Headquarters, N.Z. Division. Dated 1 April 1957.
HEADQUARTERS, 1ST INFANTRY BRIGADE
Lieutenant-Colonel A. B. Bullen, D.S.O., E.D., from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), R.N.Z. Inf., to be Brigadier, and is appointed Commander, 1st Infantry Brigade. Dated 1 April 1957.
HEADQUARTERS, 2ND INFANTRY BRIGADE
Brigadier D. McIntyre, D.S.O., O.B.E., E.D., relinquishes the appointment of Commander, 2nd Infantry Brigade, and is transferred to Headquarters, 4th Armoured Brigade. Dated 1 April 1957.
Lieutenant-Colonel D. S. Thomson, M.C., E.D., from the Wellington West Coast and Taranaki Regiment, to be Brigadier, and is appointed Commander, 2nd Infantry Brigade. Dated 1 April 1957.
HEADQUARTERS, 3RD INFANTRY BRIGADE
Brigadier H. H. Parata, D.S.O., E.D., relinquishes the appointment of Commander, 3rd Infantry Brigade, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, in the rank of Brigadier. Dated 1 April 1957.
Lieutenant-Colonel T. B. Morten, D.S.O., E.D., from the Canterbury Regiment, to be Brigadier, and is appointed Commander, 3rd Infantry Brigade. Dated 1 April 1957.
HEADQUARTERS, 4TH ARMOURED BRIGADE
Brigadier H. A. Robinson, D.S.O., M.C., E.D., relinquishes the appointment of Commander, 4th Armoured Brigade, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, General List, in the rank of Brigadier. Dated 1 April 1957.
