Notice of Intention to Take Land in Block I, Otira Survey District, for a Public School

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act 1928, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for a public school; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post office at Inchbonnie, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land in the Westland Land District containing 2 acres and 16 perches, situated in Block I, Otira Survey District, being Lot 17, D.P. 396, being part Rural Section 1440; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 153261 deposited in the office of the Minister of Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Applying Board of Trade (Gas) Regulations 1924 to Certain Companies

PURSUANT to clause 27 of the Board of Trade (Gas) Regulations 1924,* the Minister of Industries and Commerce hereby removes from the Schedule to the said regulations the name of the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas Board and substitutes the name of the following company:

The Hutt Valley Electric Power and Gas Board.

Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 4) 1957

PURSUANT to regulation 15 of the Import Control Regulations 1938,* the Minister of Customs hereby gives notice as follows:

  1. (1) This notice may be cited as the Import Control Exemption Notice (No. 4) 1957.
    (2) This notice shall come into force on the 10th day of May 1957.

  2. Goods of the classes specified in the First Schedule hereto, imported from and being the produce or manufacture of any country other than the countries specified in the Second Schedule hereto, are hereby exempted from the requirement of a licence under the said regulations.

Special Arrangements for the Provision of Medical Services for Children Resident in Boarding Schools

PURSUANT to section 82 of the Social Security Act 1938, the Minister of Health has made special arrangements by which children for the time being resident in boarding schools may receive all such medical services as are provided as benefits in accordance with the Social Security (Medical Benefits) Regulations 1941,* in those cases where the Director-General of Health approves an arrangement (having effect from a date specified by him in each case) entered into by a medical practitioner or practitioners with the controlling authority of a boarding school for the provision of such services.

Licensing the Imperial Chemical Industries (N.Z.) Ltd. to Use and Occupy a Part of the Foreshore at Maraetai as a Site for a Wharf and Prescribing Dues for the Use Thereof

PURSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, the Minister of Marine hereby licenses and permits the Imperial Chemical Industries (N.Z.) Ltd., of Wellington (hereinafter called the company, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Maraetai, as shown on plans marked M.D. 2845 and 4118 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of maintaining thereon a wharf as shown on the said plans, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the First Schedule hereto, and prescribes that the dues and rates specified in the Second Schedule hereto shall be charged and taken by the company for the use of the said wharf.

FIRST SCHEDULE

  1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto.

  2. The term of the licence shall be fourteen years from the 1st day of June 1957.

  3. The premium payable by the company shall be two pounds (£2) and the annual sum so payable ten pounds (£10).

  4. The master of all vessels discharging ballast at the said wharf shall deposit such ballast above high-water mark, or at such place as may be approved by the Minister or by any person appointed by the Minister for that purpose.

SECOND SCHEDULE

WHARFAGE

The master of every vessel shall pay to the company:

Land in Westland Land District Forfeited

NOTICE is hereby given that the Land Settlement Board, with the approval of the Minister of Lands, has by resolution declared the under-mentioned lease to be forfeited, pursuant to section 146 of the Land Act 1948, and that the land has thereby reverted to the Crown.
