In the matter of Emblem Confectionery Ltd.

PURSUANT to rule 85 of the Companies (Winding Up) Rules 1956, the liquidator of Emblem Confectionery Ltd., which is being wound up voluntarily, doth hereby fix the 24th day of May 1957 as the day on or before which the creditors of the company are to prove their debts or claims and to establish any title which they may have to priority under section 308 of the Act, or to be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved or, as the case may be, from objecting to such distribution.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of members, holders of loan capital, and creditors of the above-named society will be held on Thursday, 30 May 1957, at 7.30 p.m., at the Scouts Hall in Lee Street, Ohakune, to receive the liquidator's accounts showing the conduct of the winding-up and disposition of the property of the society.

AUCKLAND METROPOLITAN DRAINAGE BOARD


SPECIAL ORDER


Loan No. 22, 1956, £28,000

THE Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board, in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Act 1944 and in pursuance of the authority conferred on it under the Local Bodies' Finance Act 1921–22, the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Local Government Loans Board Act 1926, and their respective amendments, and in exercise of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, doth hereby resolve by special resolution intended to operate as a special order to borrow the sum of twenty-eight thousand pounds, (£28,000) to be designated Loan No. 22, 1956, £28,000, for the purpose of constructing the extension of Branch Sewer No. 9A from Richardson Road to May Road, Mount Roskill.

The foregoing special order was made by way of special resolution passed at a special meeting of the Board held on the 13th day of March 1957. It was publicly notified in the Auckland Star on the 23rd day of March 1957 and the 6th day of April 1957 and confirmed at the special meeting of the Board held on the 16th day of April 1957.

The common seal of the Auckland Metropolitan Drainage Board was hereto affixed this 23rd day of April 1957 in the presence of—

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE


Machinery Loan No. 3, 1956, £30,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loan Act 1956, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of £30,000, authorised to be raised by the Waikato County Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 for purchasing plant and machinery for road construction and maintenance, the said Waikato County Council hereby makes a special rate of 1/20th of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the whole of the County of Waikato; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of eight years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

SOUTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD


STRIKING OF RATE AS SECURITY


Electricity Development Loan 1957, £250,000

PURSUANT to the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956, the South Canterbury Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the annual charges on a loan of two hundred and fifty thousand pounds (£250,000) authorised to be raised by South Canterbury Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the further reticulation of the South Canterbury Electric Power District, the said South Canterbury Electric Power Board hereby makes a special rate of one hundred and seventy-five thousandths of one penny (0·175d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (being the capital value) of all rateable property of the South Canterbury Electric Power District as constituted by the Proclamation dated 20 October 1922 and published in Gazette No. 76, dated 26 October 1922, and as amended by Proclamation dated 29 February 1928 and published in Gazette No. 19, dated 8 March 1929, and as further amended by Proclamation dated 7 December 1928 and published in Gazette No. 93, dated 13 December 1928, and as finally amended by Proclamation dated 19 April 1956 and published in Gazette No. 26, dated 26 April 1956; and that the special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of eighteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

WANGANUI-RANGITIKEI ELECTRIC POWER BOARD


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE


In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and its amendments and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and repayment charges and all other expenses on the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board’s Reticulation Extension Loan 1956 of £50,000 to be raised pursuant to the above-mentioned authority, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fortieth part of one penny (1/40d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all the rateable property in the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the aforesaid loan and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being for a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND


In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, the Public Works Act 1928, and the Acts amending the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Morrinsville Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for housing purposes; and notice is hereby further given that a plan showing the land required to be taken, together with the names of the owners and occupiers of such land, is deposited at the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, situated in Canada Street, Morrinsville, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; all persons affected, who have any well grounded objections to the taking of such land for the purposes aforesaid, must set forth their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Council Chambers, Canada Street, Morrinsville.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of land required to be taken: 3 acres 3 roods 10 perches.

Being part Lot 23 on Deposited Plan 2465, being part of the Motumaoho No. 2 Block, and being part of the land comprised and described in certificate of title, S. Volume 479, folio 75 (Auckland Registry), situated in Block VI, Maungakawa Survey District (Borough of Morrinsville).
