Releasing Land from the Provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Te Kaha Development Scheme)

PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that, on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette, the land described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 13 January 1932 and published in the Gazette, 21 January 1932, Volume I, page 115.

Redefining the Boundaries of the Hutt Valley Electric Power District

PURSUANT to subsection (2) of section 8 of the Wellington Harbour Reclamation Act 1955, the General Manager of the State Hydro-electric Department hereby defines, as set out in the Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the Hutt Valley Electric Power District, the previous boundaries having been altered by subsection (1) of the said section.

SCHEDULE
HUTT VALLEY ELECTRIC POWER DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District comprising the City of Lower Hutt, the Boroughs of Petone, Eastbourne, Upper Hutt, and Tawa Flat, part of the City of Wellington, and parts of the counties of Hutt and Makara, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the mean high-water mark of the sea, in line with the south-western boundary of Section 55, Wainui District situated in Block III, Packakariki Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary, along the western and southern boundaries of Section 64, Wainui District, and along the western side of the Pauatahanui-Paekakariki Main Highway to the northern boundary of Pukerua No. 1, across that highway to and along the northern boundary of Section 48, Horokiwi Valley District, and its production to the north-eastern boundary of Section 102 of Allocation Block 24; thence southerly generally along that boundary and the eastern boundaries of Sections 66 and 64, Horokiwi Valley District, to the north-western corner of Section 2, Block VII, Paekakariki Survey District; thence easterly along the northern boundaries of that Section and Sections 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block VII, aforesaid, and Section 2, Block IX, Akatarawa Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section 1, Block IX, aforesaid; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 1, 11, 12, and 13, Block IX, aforesaid, Sections 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, Block V, Akatarawa Survey District, to the road forming the northern boundaries of the last-mentioned section; thence easterly generally along the southern side of that road, across another road, to and along the southern and eastern sides of the road forming the northern and western boundaries of Section 1, Block VI, Akatarawa Survey District, and Section 5, Block II, Akatarawa Survey District, to and along the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section, along the western and northern boundaries of Section 406, Hutt District, across the Akatarawa-Waikanae road to and along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 407, along the eastern boundaries of Sections 404, 403, all of Hutt District, along the northern boundary of Section 5, Block III, Akatarawa Survey District, to and along the western side of a road, to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Akatarawa Survey District, to and along that boundary and along the southern side of a road to the easternmost corner of the said Section 2; thence north-easterly across a road to and along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 12, 11, and 10, Block III, Akatarawa Survey District, to the eastern corner of the said Section 10; thence easterly along a right line to the summit of Mount Hector; thence southerly and south-westerly along the summit of the Tararua and Rimutaka Ranges to Waimarara Trig. Station, and along a right line to the sea coast at Turakirae Head; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the sea coast and the shore of Port Nicholson, to the southernmost corner of Section 4,

side of that road to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Section 93, Ohariu District; thence south-westerly to and along that boundary to the westernmost corner of that section, a right line to the northernmost corner of Section 9, Kaiwharawhara District, along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that section to the northernmost corner of Section 7, Kaiwharawhara District, along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that section to the northernmost corner of Subdivision I of the Otari Maori Reserve, along the north western boundaries of Subdivisions I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII, Otari Maori Reserve, the south-western boundary of the last-mentioned subdivision and its production to the right bank of the Kaiwharawhara Stream, and up the right bank of that stream to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of the Otari Maori Reserve, and a right line to and along that boundary to the easternmost corner of Section 56, Karori District; thence westerly generally along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of that section, the north-western boundaries of Sections 57 and 58, Karori District, along the abutment of a public road and along the northern boundary of Section 40, Makara District, to the south-eastern corner of Section 29, Makara District; thence northerly generally along the eastern boundaries of Sections 29 and 30, the southern, eastern, and northern boundaries of Section 51, the eastern boundaries of Sections 34 and 36, the southern and eastern boundaries of Section 53, all of Makara District, along the eastern boundary of Section 87, the southern, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of Section 104, the north-eastern boundary of Section 79, across a public road, to and along the north-eastern boundary of Section 76, along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of Section 99, all of Ohariu District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the mean high-water mark of the sea; thence north-easterly generally along the said mean high-water mark of the sea and Porirua Harbour to the westernmost corner of Section 98, Porirua District, situated in Block VIII, Paekakariki Survey District; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of that section to the railway bridge; thence northerly across that bridge to the southern boundary of Section 81, Porirua District, being a point on the mean high-water mark of Porirua Harbour, along that mean high-water mark and the mean high-water mark of the sea, to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 55, Wainui District, being the point of commencement.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked S.H.D. 432 deposited in the office of the State Hydro-electric Department at Wellington, and thereon outlined in red.
