Reciprocal Enforcement of Maintenance Orders in North
Borneo
It is notified for general information that Maintenance Orders
made in New Zealand, the Cook Islands (including Niue), and
the Trust Territory of Western Samoa may now be enforced
in North Borneo.
The Gazette notification No. S. 128, promulgated on 16
October 1956, declared New Zealand, the Cook Islands (in-
cluding Niue), and the Trust Territory of Western Samoa to
be reciprocating countries for the purposes of the Reciprocal
Enforcement of Maintenance Orders Ordinance (Cap. 118)
1948.

The Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1957
WHEREAS by subsection (1), section 18, of the Control of
Prices Act 1947 (as substituted by section 3 of the Control of
Prices Amendment Act 1953 and amended by section 2 of the
Control of Prices Amendment Act 1956) it is provided that the
Minister of Industries and Commerce may from time to time
publish in the Gazette a list of goods and services for the time
being subject to a price order or to a special approval under
Part II of the Control of Prices Act 1947:
And whereas it is provided in subsection (2) of the said
section 18 that on the publication of any notice under the said
subsection (1):
(a) Every price order and special approval shall be deemed
to be revoked to the extent to which it applies to any
goods or services not referred to in the said list; and
(b) All goods and services not referred to in the said list
shall be deemed to be exempted from Part III of the
said Act;
And whereas the Minister is desirous of publishing in the
Gazette, pursuant to the said subsection (1), this notice con-
taining a list of goods and services for the time being subject
to a price order or to a special approval under Part II of the
said Act:
Now, therefore, the Minister, pursuant to section 18 of the
said Act, hereby gives the following notice:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices (Posi-
    tive List) Notice 1957, and shall come into force on the 15th
    day of March 1957.
  2. The goods and services referred to in the list contained
    in the Schedule hereto are subject to a price order or to a
    special approval under Part II of the said Act.
  3. For the purposes of this notice any reference to any goods
    in the list contained in the Schedule hereto shall be deemed to
    include any component, part, or accessory intended or designed
    for the repair or improvement of those goods.
  4. The Control of Prices (Postive List) Notice 19551, and
    Amendments Nos. 12, 23, 34, 4,5 56, 67, and 78, of that notice
    are hereby revoked.
    SCHEDULE
    CHEMICALS AND CHEMICAL SUBSTANCES
    Drugs and related commodities
    Drugs and any other substances and mixtures of substances
    specially prepared for use in the treatment, prevention,
    investigation, or alleviation of any disease, illness, or
    injury included in the Drug Tariff 1953 and its amend-
    ments as defined in the Social Security (Pharmaceutical
    Supplies) Regulations 19419, reprinted 195110.
    Druggists sundries
    Bottles, glass, and jars and pots, chemists stock.
    Bottles, jars and pots used in the packing or dispensing of
    drugs and for toilet preparations.
    Fertilisers and lime
    Inorganic fertilisers and ingredients, and fertiliser mixtures
    containing inorganic ingredients except when sold retail
    in quantities less than 1 cwt.
    Serpentine Rock.
    Petroleum products
    Petrol.
    Aviation spirit.
    White spirit.
    Diesel and fuel oil.
    Kerosene, except when sold in containers of no greater
    capacity than one imperial quart.
    CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR
    Apparel
    Blazers, maids' and boys' school uniform.
    Bloomers—see underwear.
    Coats, boys', school uniform.
    Costumes, of wool or containing wool, school uniform.
    Drill and denim clothing of the following kinds: school
    uniform, maids' and boys'.
    Gym and school frocks, dresses, tunics and uniforms.
    Hosiery—
    Socks and stockings as follows:
    Boys' and infants—all types.
    Women's and maids' gym hose.
    Knitwear—
    Frocks, costumes, and suits, of wool or containing wool—
    Maids' school uniforms.
    Jerseys, except football jerseys.
    Jumpers.
    Pullovers.
    Slipons.
    Twinsets.
    Knitwear—infants' other than pilchers, bootees, headwear,
    and gloves.
