Pursuant to the Naval Defence Act 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General has approved the following appointments, promotions, and terminations of appointments in the Royal New Zealand Navy:

Captain F. E. Taylor, C.B.E., D.S.C., V.R.D., service on Active List extended for one year from 6 January 1957, and reappointed Wellington Division in Command.

Lieutenant-Colonel (temp. Brigadier) H. E. Gilbert, D.S.O., O.B.E., relinquishes the temporary rank of Brigadier and is granted the acting rank of Brigadier. Dated 6 January 1957.

The notice published in the Gazette, Volume I of 1944, page 346, relating to temp. Major F. L. Parkin, is cancelled, and the following substituted:
“Temp. Major F. L. Parkin is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List. Dated 25 March 1944.”
With reference to the notice published in the Gazette, Volume I of 1950, page 178, relating to Major F. L. Parkin, for “from the Retired List . . .”, substitute “from the Reserve of Officers, Supplementary List . . .”.
