Pages 28 and 29—Tariff item 200: delete item.

Substitute:

200 Leather, viz.—

(1) Crust or rough tanned leather

(2) Dressed leather, viz.—

(a) Chamois-dressed leather

(b) Parchment-dressed leather, including vellum

(c) Patent leather

(d) N.e.i., viz.—

(i) Bovine cattle leather

(ii) Goat and kid skin leather declared by a manufacturer for use in the manufacture of such goods as may be approved by the Minister and under such conditions as the Minister may prescribe

(iii) Goat and kid skin leather, other

(iv) Persians

(v) Sheep and lamb skin leather (other than persians)

(vi) Other kinds

Substitute:

201 Leather board, or compo, composed of skivings, split leathers, leather scraps, or the same mixed with other material, cemented and pressed together, cut into shapes or otherwise

202 Leather laces; vamps, and uppers; leather cut into shapes; clog and patten soles; leather leggings

203 (1) Belts (not being apparel), and belting, wholly or partly composed of leather

203 (2) Manufactured articles of leather or of plastic sheeting, n.e.i.

204 Handbags, purses, shopping bags, schoolbags, rucksacks, sponge bags, portman-teaux, trunks, suit-cases, hat boxes, document or folio cases, attache cases, and similar receptacles (not including basketware, wickerware, or receptacles made of similar materials)

Substitute:

262 (1) Toilet preparations, and perfumery, n.e.i., including perfumed oil

(2) Toilet sets, including containers therefor, whether or not such containers are suitable for permanent use

Vide the Customs Tariff (Leather and Leathergoods) Order 1957, the Trade Agreement with Australia (Leather and Leathergoods) Order 1957, the Trade Agreement with Canada (Leather and Leathergoods) Order 1957, the Customs Surtax (Leather and Leathergoods) Exemption Order 1957, the Customs Primage (Leather) Exemption Order 1957.

*Plus surtax at the rate of nine-fortieths of the amount of duty. Where it is indicated in the column headed “British Preferential” that surtax is payable, such surtax relates only to goods imported from Ireland (except Northern Ireland), Union of South Africa, India, Pakistan, and Canada (including Newfoundland).
