Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the Minister of Lands hereby revokes the reservation as a reserve for the uses of the Provincial Government, and particularly for a ferry, road, and railway, over the land described in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Land Acquired for a Government Work and Not Required for That Purpose to be Crown Land

Pursuant to section 35 of the Public Works Act 1928, the Minister of Works hereby declares the land described in the Schedule hereto to be deemed to have been Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948 as from the 14th day of December 1956.

Pursuant to subsection (6) of section 38 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1953, notice is hereby given that the period of effectiveness of each refusal or prohibition made by the Ellerslie Borough Council in the interests of the Ellerslie Borough district scheme under subsection (2) of the said section, which refusal or prohibition but for this notice would expire between the date of public notification hereof and the 1st day of February 1958 inclusive, is hereby extended to the said 1st day of February 1958.

Revoking Portion of a Warrant Excluding Streets from Limitation as to Speed and Excluding Portions of Streets from the Speed Limitation Imposed by the Transport Act 1949, Section 36

Pursuant to section 36 of the Transport Act 1949, the Minister of Transport hereby revokes that portion of the Warrant dated the 25th day of February 1938* which applies to streets situated within Richmond Borough, and hereby excludes the streets described in the Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

SCHEDULE

Situated within Richmond Borough: Nelson-Westport State Highway No. 54 (from the north-eastern boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 28 chains south-west of the said boundary and from the south-western boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 30 chains north-east of the said boundary). Queen Street (from the north-western boundary of Richmond Borough to a point 45 chains south-east of the said boundary).

Approval of Testing Officers Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to regulation 5 of the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby approves of the person named in column 2 of the Schedule hereunder being a testing officer under the said regulations for the authority specified in column 1 of the said Schedule.

Exemption Order Under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940

Pursuant to the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940, the Minister of Transport hereby orders and declares that the provisions of clause (1) of regulation 7 of the said regulations so far as they relate to the driving of heavy trade motors shall not apply to the persons hereinafter mentioned, but in lieu thereof the following provision shall apply:

A motor driver's licence issued under the Motor Drivers Regulations 1940 to the persons described in column 1 of the Schedule hereunder may authorise them to drive a heavy trade motor in the course of their employment for the employers described in column 2 of the said Schedule, but shall not authorise them, while they are under the age of eighteen years, to drive a heavy trade motor for any other purpose.
