Altering Times and Sitings of the Supreme Court in the
Gisborne Judicial District
WHEREAS by rule under their hands bearing date 4 October
1956, and published in Gazette of 8 November 1956, five
of the Judges of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, with the
approval of the Governor-General in Council, did appoint
sittings for the trial of criminal and civil cases and causes
under the Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act 1928 for the
respective judicial districts thereinafter mentioned:
And whereas it was appointed (inter alia) that for the
Gisborne Judicial District such sittings should be held at
Gisborne on
Tuesday, 19 February 1957, at 10.30 a.m.
Tuesday, 14 May 1957, at 10.30 a.m.
Tuesday, 13 August 1957, at 10.30 a.m.
Tuesday, 12 November 1957, at 10.30 a.m.
And whereas it is expedient to revoke the above appoint-
ment for the Gisborne Judicial District and to make an
appointment in substitution therefor.
Now, therefore, we, three of the Judges of the Supreme
Court of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in
us by the Judicature Act 1908, and all other powers us there-
unto enabling, do hereby revoke the said appointment for the
Gisborne Judicial District, and in lieu thereof appoint that
sittings for the trial of criminal and civil cases and causes
under the Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act 1928 shall be
held in the Gisborne Judicial District at Gisborne on
Tuesday, 26 February 1957, at 10.30 a.m.
Tuesday, 28 May 1957, at 10.30 a.m.
Tuesday, 27 August 1957, at 10.30 a.m.
Tuesday, 26 November 1957, at 10.30 a.m.

Land Surveyors’ Examination, February 1957—Australia and
New Zealand
It is hereby notified for general information that the Survey
Board, in conjunction with the Australian Surveyors’ Boards,
will conduct an examination of candidates for registration as
surveyors, commencing at 9 a.m. on Monday, 11 February
1957, at Wellington.
Candidates are notified that their applications, on the
proper form, must reach the Secretary of the Board not later
than Monday, 14 January 1957, and that the examination fee
must be paid at the same time to the Secretary, from whom
application forms and other particulars may be obtained.
Candidates presenting themselves for examination in any
written subject or subjects may present themselves for examina-
tion at any Chief Surveyor’s office, or at Rotorua, Whangarei,
or Hamilton.
Candidates for the oral and practical portion of the
examination must sit in Wellington. Plans for this portion of
the examination, the certificate, and other evidence required
by regulation No. 31 of the Survey Examination Regulations
1953, must be forwarded not later than 4 March 1957.
The fees for examination are as follows:

Each subsequent part of examination 3 3 0
For each written paper in addition 0 10 6

Law Practitioners Act 1955
PURSUANT to the Law Practitioners Act 1955, notice is hereby
given that the Disciplinary Committee of the New Zealand
Law Society on the 26th day of November 1956 ordered that
Tasman Gunnell Taylor be suspended from practice until
the charge has been heard and disposed of.

Releasing Land From the Provisions of Part XXIV of the
Maori Affairs Act 1953 (Hokianga Development Scheme)
PURSUANT to section 332 of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
Board of Maori Affairs hereby declares that on the date of
the publication of this notice in the Gazette the land described
in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be subject to the
provisions of Part XXIV of the Maori Affairs Act 1953, the
said land being so subject by virtue of a notice dated 15
September 1930, and published in the Gazette, 25 September
1930, Volume III, page 2850.
