DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP
NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore sub-
sisting between James Henry Cotton, Graeme James Hartley
Cotton, and Albert Lloyd Crutchley, all of Waipori, farmers,
who carried on business at Waipori under the style or firm of
Waipori Station, has been dissolved as from the 31st day of
March 1956.

TAWA FLAT BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Tawa Flat
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £5,200 authorised to be raised by the
Tawa Flat Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of carrying out stream improvement work
within the Borough of Tawa Flat, the said Tawa Flat Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three tenths
of one penny (3/10d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of
all rateable property of the Borough of Tawa Flat comprising
the whole of the Tawa Flat Borough District; and that such
special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and accurate
copy of a resolution passed by the Tawa Flat Borough Council
at a meeting held on the 28th day of November 1956.

ASHBURTON BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by
the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Municipal Corporations
Act 1954, and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling
it in that behalf, the Ashburton Borough Council hereby
resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges
on a special loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the Ash-
burton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts to
be known as the Streets and Footways Loan 1955, £50,000,
Second Issue £15,000, and for the purpose of kerbing. channel-
ling, and sealing of streets and footways, installing stormwater
drainage, and purchasing plant, the Ashburton Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of £0·00375
in the pound upon all the rateable property within the Borough
of Ashburton on the basis of unimproved value; and that such
special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the cur-
rency of such loan and repayable on the 1st day of April in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
for a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

QUEENSTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Staff Housing Loan 1956, £5,500
The Queenstown Borough Council, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies'
Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto
enabling, hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
principal and interest and other charges on the Queenstown
Borough Council Staff Housing Loan 1956 of £5,500 authorised
to be raised by the Queenstown Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting two staff
houses, hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the
pound on the rateable value on the basis of the annual value
of all property within the Borough of Queenstown; and that
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day
of April in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is
fully paid off."

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Water Augmentation Loan 1956, £10,000
The Queenstown Borough Council, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies'
Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto
enabling, hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
principal and interest and other charges on the Queenstown
Borough Council Water Augmentation Loan 1956 of £10,000
authorised to be raised by the Queenstown Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of augmenting
the borough water supply and installing generating plant for
both water and sewerage pumps, hereby makes and levies a
special rate of 2½d. in the pound on the rateable value on the
basis of the annual value of all property within the Borough
of Queenstown; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable
yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or
until the loan is fully paid off."

WAITOTARA COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR THE PURPOSE OF A
PUBLIC HALL
In the matter of the Counties Act 1920 and the Public
Works Act 1928.
Notice is hereby given that the Waitotara County Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts,
to take the three pieces of land described in the Schedule
hereto for public halls.
And notice is hereby further given that plans of each of the
three pieces of land so required to be taken are deposited in
the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at
331 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui, and are open to inspection
(without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the taking of any of the said pieces
of land who have any well grounded objections to the taking
of any of the said pieces of land must state their objections in
writing and send the same, within forty days of the first pub-
lication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council
Chambers.
SCHEDULE
The first piece of land referred to in the foregoing notice is
all that piece of land containing 35·5 perches, or thereabouts,
situate in Block XIII of the Waipakura Survey District, being
part Section 122 of the Right Bank of the Wanganui River,
coloured in outline green on the plan of the said land de-
posited as aforesaid, on which is now situate the Brunswick
Public Hall.
The second piece of land referred to in the foregoing notice
is all that piece of land containing 1 rood 0·5 perch, or
thereabouts, and being part of Section 91 of the Right Bank of
the Wanganui River, coloured in outline green on the plan of
the said land deposited as aforesaid, on which is now situate
the Westmere Public Hall.
The third piece of land referred to in the foregoing notice
is all that piece of land containing 1 rood, or thereabouts,
being part of Section 238 of the Right Bank of the Wanganui
River, and being part of Lot 8 on Deposited Plan No. 1311,
coloured in outline green on the plan of the said land de-
posited as aforesaid, on which is now situate the Rapanui
Public Hall.
All the above pieces of land are situate in the County of
Waitotara.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL
Pursuant to section 42 of the Rating Act 1925, I hereby give
notice that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of
Kaitangata taken on the 17th day of November 1956 on the
proposal that the system of rating in the said borough be on
the unimproved value:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 160.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 132.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
