Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the North
Island and the South Island of New Zealand

THE Representation Commission appointed in pursuance of
section 15 of the Electoral Act 1956 hereby publishes, in
accordance with the provisions of section 18 of the said Act,
the proposed boundaries of the electoral districts in the North
and South Islands of New Zealand; and further, gives notice
that written objections to the same will be received by the
undersigned, the chairman of the Commission, at the office of
the Surveyor-General, Government Buildings, Wellington, not
later than noon on Tuesday, the 8th day of January 1957, for
consideration by the aforesaid Commission.

Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the office of
any City or Borough Council, County Council, Town Board,
or Road Board; of the Chief Surveyor at Auckland, New
Plymouth, Gisborne, Napier, Wellington, Blenheim, Nelson,
Hokitika, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill; of the
Chief Electoral Officer at Wellington; and of the Registrars of
Electors throughout the Dominion.

Counties, ridings, cities, boroughs, and town districts where
mentioned in this notice shall, unless otherwise stated, be as
existing on 17 April 1956.

HOBSON
All that area being the present Electoral District of Hobson.

MARSDEN
All that area being the present Electoral District of Marsden.

RODNEY
All that area comprising the Counties of Otamatea and
Rodney, the Borough of Helensville, the Town District of
Warkworth, and that portion of the County of Waitemata
bounded by a line commencing at the point of intersection of
the western boundary of Puhoi Parish and the northern
boundary of Waiwera Parish, in Block I, Waiwera Survey
District; thence southerly generally along the northern and
western boundaries of Waiwera Parish to the south-western
corner of Allotment 34, Waiwera Parish; thence across a
public road to and along the northern boundary of Allotment
29, Kaukapakapa Parish, the northern and western boundaries
of Allotment 52, the western boundaries of Allotments 57, 58,

and 63, to a point in line with the north-western boundary of
Allotment 65, across a public road to and along the last-
mentioned boundary and the north-eastern and eastern bound-
aries of Allotment 64, the aforesaid allotments being of
Kaukapakapa Parish; thence along a right line to the con-
fluence of the Waitoki and Waipapakara Streams; thence up
the middle of the Waipapakara Stream to the north-eastern
corner of Allotment 306, Pukeatua Parish; thence generally
along the eastern boundary of the said Allotment 306 to a
point in line with the south-western boundary of part Allot-
ment S. 23, Pukeatua Parish; thence along a right line across
a public road to and along the south-western boundary of
part Allotment S. 23 aforesaid, the north-western and south-
western boundaries of Allotment 24, the south-western bound-
aries of Allotments 25, 26, 27, and 28, the southern boundaries
of Allotments 28 and E. 29 to a point due west of the north-
eastern corner of Allotment 39, the aforesaid allotments being
of Pukeatua Parish; thence due east across a public road to
the western boundary of the Pukeatua Riding of the County
of Waitemata; thence southerly generally along the western
boundary of the said riding to the southernmost corner of
Allotment 222, Paremoremo Parish; thence along the south-
eastern boundary of Allotment 222 and the south-western
boundary of Allotment 221, both of Paremoremo Parish, and
the production of the last-mentioned boundary to the middle
of the Rangitopuni Stream; thence down that stream to and
along the western shore of Waitemata Harbour to the middle
of the mouth of Henderson Creek; thence up the middle of
Henderson Creek to and up the middle of Huruhuru Creek
to Don Bucks Road; thence south-easterly along a public
road to Ranui Road; thence south-westerly along Ranui Road
and Metcalf Road, and southerly along Hetherington Road
and Candia Road to Henderson Valley Road; thence easterly
along the Henderson Valley Road and south-easterly along
Parrs Cross Road to the Waikumete West Coast Main High-
way; thence south-westerly along the said highway to Shaw
Road; thence southerly along Shaw Road to the southern
boundary of the Waikumete Riding of the County of Wai-
temata; thence south-westerly along the boundary of the said
riding to the intersection of Exhibition Drive with the
northern boundary of Allotment 31, Waikomiti Parish; thence
southerly along Exhibition Drive to the New Lynn-Huia
Main Highway and south-westerly along the said highway
to the Nihotupu Stream; thence down that stream to the
Manukau Harbour; thence westerly, northerly, and easterly
generally along the boundary of the County of Waitemata
to the point of commencement; and including Herald Island,
Little Barrier Island, Kawau and Motuketekete Islands, and
other adjacent islands.
