Streets Improvement Loan 1953 authorised to be raised by the
Council under the above-mentioned Act by a poll of rate-
payers, the result of such poll being published in Gazette,
No. 1, of 7 January 1954, at page 54), the said loan of Β£60,000
being for the purpose of the construction of streets within
the City of New Plymouth, including (a) the reconstruction,
grading, formation, metalling, graveling, and surface-sealing
of carriageways and footways in streets; (b) the construction
and provision of channels, kerbs, and retaining walls in streets;
and (c) the provision and laying of pipes and drains to convey
stormwater from or under streets, the Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of nine over thirty-two parts of a
penny (9/32d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the
whole of the City of New Plymouth (excluding, however, the
area included in the City by Order in Council made on the
8th day of August 1955 and published in Gazette, No. 52, of
11 August 1955, at page 1258), and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable half yearly on the 1st day of November and
the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan
is fully paid off.
The above is a certified copy of a resolution passed at a
meeting of the New Plymouth City Council held on the 15th
day of October 1956.

GISBORNE CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that
behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Gisborne
City Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of Β£50,000 authorised to be raised by the
Gisborne City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the
purpose of completing the renewal of the Waingake water-
supply pipeline, the said Gisborne City Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of 19/64d. in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable property of the City of Gisborne,
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on
the 1st day of August in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or
until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy
of a resolution passed by the Gisborne City Council at a
special meeting held on the 9th day of October 1956.

TIMARU CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND
In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and
the Public Works Act 1928.
Notice is hereby given that the Timaru City Council proposes,
under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, tc execute
a certain public work, namely, the widening of a public street,
and for the purposes of such public work the lands described
in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, and notice is
hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be
taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to
the said Council, situated in King George's Place, Timaru, and
is open for inspection without fee by all persons during
ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of such lands who have any well
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections
in writing and send the same within forty days from the first
publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Council
Chambers, King George's Place, Timaru.
SCHEDULE
APPROXIMATE area of parcels of land required to be taken:
1.4 perches.
Being part of Lot 52, D.P. 3430, part Rural Section 2282,
part certificate of title 377/180; coloured green on plan.
Situated in the City of Timaru.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND UNDER THE PUBLIC
WORKS ACT 1928
NOTICE is hereby given that the Chairman, Councillors, and
Inhabitants of the County of Hutt require to take the land
described in the Schedule hereto. The land is required for the
purpose of a public work, namely, a public road.
A plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices
of Messrs Brandon, Ward, Macandrew, and Watts, solicitors,
150-152 Featherston Street, Wellington.
All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to
set forth in writing any well grounded objection to the execution of such work or to the taking of such land, and to send
such writing within forty days from the first publication of
this notice to the County Clerk, Hutt County Council, at his
office at Bowen House, Bowen Street, Wellington.

THAT piece of land containing 3.88 perches, being part Section
4, Wainui District, and being part of Lot 8 on Deposited Plan
No. 10230; as the same is shown coloured orange on Survey
Office Plan No. 23619.

BOROUGH OF MOUNT MAUNGANUI
TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953
PURSUANT to the Town and Country Planning Regulations
1954, public notice is hereby given that the modifications to
the district scheme under the Town and Country Planning Act
1953 for the Borough of Mount Maunganui were approved by
the Council by resolution passed at its meeting held on the
16th day of October 1956, there being no objections, appeals,
and arbitrations relating to the scheme to dispose of or variations of the scheme required by the Town and Country Planning Appeal Board to be incorporated.
The Council has also resolved that the modifications to the
scheme shall come into operation on the 23rd day of October
1956.
Copies of the scheme as approved have been deposited in
the Council's office and may be inspected without fee by any
person who so requires at any time when the office is open to
the public.
