  1. The boundaries of the Strath Taieri Rabbit District, which was constituted by Order in Council on the 10th day of August 1949,* are hereby altered and redefined; and as from the commencement of this order the boundaries of the said district shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

BOUNDARIES OF THE STRATH TAIERI RABBIT DISTRICT

ALL that area in the Otago Land District and in the Counties of Taieri and Maniototo containing 148,800 acres, more or less, and bounded by a line commencing at the northernmost corner of Run 205E, Rock and Pillar Survey District; thence generally south-easterly, south-westerly, and again south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 205E to the Taieri River; thence generally southerly down the centre of the Taieri River to a point due east of the southern boundary of Section 2, Block II, Strath Taieri Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary to the Middlemarch-Kyeburn Main Highway; thence southerly along that highway to the north-eastern corner of Section 22, Block II, of said district; thence westerly along the northern boundary of said Section 22 to the Otago Central Railway; thence generally southerly down that railway to the Middlemarch-Kyeburn Main Highway; thence easterly along that highway and its production to the Taieri River; thence generally south-easterly down the centre of that river to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 27, Block V, Strath Taieri Survey District; thence westerly to and along that boundary, across the Otago Central Railway, and along the southern boundary of Section 32, Block V, of said district, to a public road; thence northerly along that road to the southern boundary of Section 43 of said Block V; thence westerly along that boundary to the Old Coach Road; thence southerly down that road to the north-eastern corner of Section 10, Block IX, of said district; thence westerly, southerly, and easterly along the northern, western, and southern boundaries of said Section 10 to the Gladbrook-Riverslea road; thence southerly along that road to the south-eastern corner of Section 4, Block IX, of said district; thence westerly along the southern boundary of said Section 4 to Top Road; thence southerly down that road and the Gladbrook-Riverslea road to the south-western corner of Section 37s, Gladbrook Settlement; thence easterly, southerly, and again easterly along the boundary of Gladbrook Settlement to the north-eastern corner of Section 1, Block XIII, Sutton Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of said Section 1 to Kidds Road; thence easterly along that road, across the Otago Central Railway to the Middlemarch-Dunback Main Highway; thence generally northerly along that highway to the Otago Central Railway; thence northerly along that railway to the south-western corner of Section 40, Block IX, Strath Taieri Survey District; thence easterly along the southern boundary of said Section 40 and northerly along its eastern boundary to the boundary of the Town of Middlemarch; thence north-easterly, south-easterly, and again north-easterly along the boundary of the Town of Middlemarch to the Taieri River; thence generally southerly down the centre of the Taieri River to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Run 79B in Nenthorn Survey District; thence south-easterly to and along that boundary and northerly along the eastern boundary of Run 79B to the southern boundary of Run 79A; thence westerly along that boundary and northerly along the western boundary of Run 79A to the southern boundary of Block III, Sutton Survey District; thence westerly along that boundary to and along Young Road to the eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XIV; thence southerly and north-westerly along the eastern and south-western boundaries of that Section 1, and southerly along the western boundary of Section 1, Block VII, Sutton Survey District, to Deep Stream; thence generally westerly and south-westerly up the centre of Deep Stream and generally north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Run 260 in Hedgehope Survey District to the Taieri River; thence generally north-easterly down the centre of the Taieri River to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Run 254 in Serpentine Survey District; thence north-easterly to and along that boundary and generally south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of Run 254 to the south-eastern boundary of Loganburn Survey District; thence north-easterly along that boundary to the northern boundary of Run 601; thence northerly along a straight line to Trig. B and north-easterly along a straight line to Trig. F, Loganburn Survey District; thence northerly along a straight line to and along the eastern boundary of Loganburn Survey District to the south-western boundary of Run 596; thence north-westerly and north-easterly along the south-western and north-western boundaries of Run 596 to the north-western boundary of Strath Taieri Survey District; thence generally north-easterly along that boundary, the north-western boundary of Run 213A, and the western and north-western boundaries of Run 205E to its northernmost corner, the point of commencement.

Also Section 2 of 3s, Gladbrook Settlement, situated in Block IX, Strath Taieri Survey District, containing 70 acres 1 rood, more or less.

Exempting Land in the Southland Land District from the Operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925

PURSUANT to the Coal Mines Act 1925, His Excellency the Governor-General hereby gives the following notice:

NOTICE

THE land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from the operation of Part III of the Coal Mines Act 1925.

SCHEDULE

ALL that area of land containing 1 rood 14 poles, be the same a little more or less, being Lot 8, D.P. 2309, being part of Section 94, Block III, Wairio Survey District, being the whole of the land in certificate of title, Volume 174, folio 242, Southland Registry, excepting, however, all mines, veins, seams, and beds of coal now lying in or under the said piece of land.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General this 18th day of October 1956.

Notice of Intention to Issue a Proclamation Closing Roads in the County of Maniototo and Streets in the Borough of Naseby and Vesting the Lands in Her Majesty the Queen as Crown Land Subject to the Land Act 1948

PURSUANT to section 11 of the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Act 1955, I, Lieutenant-General Sir Charles Willoughby Moke Norrie, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby give notice that it is my intention, after the expiration of three months from the date hereof, to issue a Proclamation closing the roads and streets described in the Schedule hereto and declaring the lands to be vested in Her Majesty as Crown land subject to the Land Act 1948.

Plans showing these lands are deposited in the offices of the Town Clerk, Naseby, the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin, and the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, where they may be inspected during office hours, free of charge.

Any objections to the proposals are to be made in writing addressed to the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin, on or before the 5th day of February 1957.

SCHEDULE

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT—NASEBY BOROUGH, MANIOTOTO COUNTY

APPROXIMATE total area of roads and streets to be closed and vested in Her Majesty: 7 acres and 7·1 perches, being Neagh Street, Gara Street, part Ree Street, part Tay Street, part Boffin Street, and part Hollywood Street, situated in the town of Naseby, and parts of unnamed roads situated in Block I, Naseby Survey District. Adjoining Section 72 and part Run 667, Block I, Naseby Survey District, Sections 137, 174, 176, 177, 178 and Crown land, Block I, Section 38, and Crown land, Block II, Block VII, Sections 1, 2, 3 and Crown land, Block X, and Block XI, Town of Naseby.

As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 22/5093A deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green. (S.O. Plan 12297.)
