WAIRROA COUNTY COUNCIL
In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and its amendments and in the matter of the Counties Act 1920 and its amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wairoa County Council proposes to stop certain portions of a road, particulars whereof are set forth in the Schedule hereto and a plan whereof is deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Gisborne as No. 4898, and therein coloured green.
A copy of the said plan is also deposited at the office of the Wairoa County Council, Queen Street, Borough of Wairoa, and may be inspected without fee during ordinary office hours.
Persons having any objections to the proposed stoppage are requested to lodge their objections at the office of the Wairoa County Council within forty days after the first publication of this notice.

BOROUGH OF RICHMOND
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Sewerage Loan 1955, £85,000
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Richmond Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of eighty-five thousand pounds (£85,000) authorised to be raised by the Richmond Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of installing a sewerage scheme for a special rating area of the borough, the said Richmond Borough Council hereby makes and levies a rate of one penny and three-sixteenths of one penny in the pound (116d. in £1) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the special rating area of the Borough of Richmond, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."
I hereby certify the above to be a true and correct copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Richmond Borough Council held on the 9th day of October 1956.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Electrical Extension Loan 1956, £212,000
THE Christchurch City Council, at a meeting held on the 8th day of October 1956, passed the following resolution:
"In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and its amendments and all other powers it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of two hundred and twelve thousand pounds (£212,000) authorised to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the distribution system and electrical reticulation within the Christchurch City Council's licensed area of supply, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of four hundred and seventy-two/three thousand one hundred and twenty-fifths of a penny (472/3125d.) in the pound (£0·0006293) on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate payable on demand in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

TE AROHA BOROUGH COUNCIL
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
Housing Loan No. 2, £8,200
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926 and of all other powers in that behalf enabling it, the Te Aroha Borough Council hereby resolves:
"(a) That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of half-yearly instalments of principal and interest in respect of the Te Aroha Borough Council Housing Loan No. 2 1956, £8,200, authorised to be raised by the Te Aroha Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal two seven one four nine five (0·271495) pence in the pound on all rateable property in the Borough of Te Aroha, on the basis of the unimproved value, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable annually on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, during the period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
"(b) That the Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the payment of the said debentures the annually recurring special rate of decimal two seven one four nine five (0·271495) pence in the pound on all rateable property in the Borough of Te Aroha, on the basis of the unimproved value, made and levied by the Council by resolution duly passed on the 21st day of August 1956."

BOROUGH OF MATAMATA
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act 1926, the Matamata Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £60,000 authorised to be raised by the Matamata Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for water-supply improvements, the said Matamata Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence (3d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Matamata; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 9th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

BOROUGH OF MATAMATA
INCREASING NUMBER OF COUNCILLORS
NOTICE is hereby given that, at a special meeting of the Matamata Borough Council held on Monday, the 27th day of August 1956, the following resolution was passed, and was duly confirmed at the ordinary meeting of the Council held on the 8th day of October 1956:
"That the Council proceed by way of special order, in accordance with the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, to increase, as from the municipal elections in November 1956, the size of the Council from one Mayor and six Councillors, to one Mayor and eight Councillors."
