Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee Under the Public Trust Office Act 1908 (Part II), Unclaimed Lands

WHEREAS, I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have for the purposes of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act 1908 (relating to unclaimed lands) made due inquiry with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder and the whereabouts of the owner and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of that Act and have in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent thereto; and whereas the owner has not established his title to the said land as required by that Act; I hereby give notice that the said land is under and by virtue of that Act vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act 1908, the value of the said land for the purposes of section 67 (d) of that Act being less than five hundred pounds (£500).

SCHEDULE

ALL that parcel of land containing 2 roods, more or less, situate in the District of Malvern, being part of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan No. 244, and part of Rural Section 11129, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 77, folio 55, Canterbury Registry, in the name of William Reid Bell, of Formby, Tasmania, civil engineer.

Deficiency Payments in Respect of Export Meat

PURSUANT to the Meat Export Prices Act 1955, notice is hereby given that the deficiency payments set out in the Schedule hereto may be made to the owners in accordance with that Act for the classes of meat specified in the said Schedule for the week commencing on Monday, the 24th day of September 1956.

SCHEDULE

Class of Meat Amount of Deficiency Payment Chilled beef 1½d. per pound. Ox and heifer quarter beef 1¼d. per pound. Quarter cow beef ⅞d. per pound.

Reserve Bank of New Zealand

PURSUANT to section 45 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933 (as amended by section 23 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Amendment Act 1936), the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank, acting with the authority of the Minister of Finance, hereby gives notice that, as from 1 October 1956, the balance to be maintained in the Reserve Bank by each other bank for the time being carrying on business in New Zealand in accordance with the said section 45 shall be such that, when added to that bank's holdings of Reserve Bank notes, it shall be equal to not less than 34 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 12½ per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand, as shown in the last preceding monthly return furnished by that bank in accordance with section 46 of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933.

Provided that the minimum balance to be maintained at the Reserve Bank shall not be less than 7 per cent of its demand liabilities in New Zealand, plus 3 per cent of its time liabilities in New Zealand.

For the purpose of this calculation a bank's holding of Reserve Bank notes shall be as shown in the latest available weekly return provided under the Statistics Act 1956.

PURSUANT to subsection (3) of section 8 of the Standards Act 1941, notice is hereby given that the following draft New Zealand Standard Specifications are being circulated:

No. D.5140: Steaming Ovens-Low Pressure Type. No. D.5145: Electric Toasters-Horizontal Type.

All persons who may be affected by these specifications and who desire to comment thereon may, on application, obtain copies free of charge from the N.Z. Standards Institute, 201 Lambton Quay (P.O. Box 195), Wellington C. 1.

The closing date for the receipt of comment in each case is 3 October 1956.
