Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, and Terminations of
Commissions of Officers of the Royal New Zealand Air
Force

PURSUANT to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air Force
Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General has been
pleased to approve the following appointments, promotions,
transfers, and terminations of commissions of officers of the
Royal New Zealand Air Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE
GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Appointments
The under-mentioned cadet officers are granted short-
service commissions in the General Duties Branch, Regular
Air Force, for a period ending 28 April 1968, to be followed
by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. They are
appointed to the rank of Acting Pilot Officer with seniority
from 17 August 1956:

David Charles Lofley (77078).
William Hector Howell (75632).
Mervyn Neil Rogers (76952).
Peter Kennedy Simpson (592809).
Alan Laurie Lawless (75634).
The under-mentioned cadet officers are granted short-
service commissions in the General Duties Branch, Regular
Air Force, for a period of four years, to be followed by four
years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. They are appointed
to the rank of Acting Pilot Officer with seniority from 17
August 1956:

Donald John Victor Burfitt (345806).
John Desmond Ford (775088).
Frederick Leonard James Ryniker (648619).

Sergeant Signaller Carl Antonius Joannes Krijt (74834) is
granted a short-service commission in the General Duties
Branch, Regular Air Force, for a period of four years, to be
followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers.
He is appointed to the rank of Acting Pilot Officer with
seniority from 17 August 1956.
Sergeant Signaller Sydney Albert Vincent (76191) is
granted a short-service commission in the General Duties
Branch, Regular Air Force, for a period ending 21 September
1964, to be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air
Force Officers. He is appointed to the rank of Acting Pilot
Officer with seniority from 17 August 1956.
Cadet Officer Laurence Gilbert Young (33180) is granted
a temporary commission in the General Duties Branch,
Regular Air Force, for the duration of flying training, to be
followed by eight years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers.
He is appointed to the rank of Acting Pilot Officer with
seniority from 17 August 1956.

Promotion
Flight Lieutenant Bruce Allan Wood (70184) to be Squadron Leader, with effect from 1 September 1956.

Terminations of Commissions
The commissions of the under-mentioned Acting Pilot
Officers are terminated, with effect from 22 August 1956:
Graeme Patrick Gleeson (691232).
Gordon Hutchings (784045).
EDUCATION BRANCH
Transfer and Promotion
Pilot Officer Tony Harris Harrison (78646) is transferred
from the Air Training Corps to the Education Branch, Regular
Air Force, for a period of five years, to be followed by four
years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. He is granted the
rank of Flying Officer with seniority from 1 August 1955.
Dated 1 August 1956.

AIR TRAINING CORPS
Appointment
Corporal Richard Ward Pimm is granted a commission in
the Air Training Corps with the rank of Pilot Officer, with
effect from 1 July 1956.

Promotion
Pilot Officer Richard James Whittington, M.A., to be Flying
Officer, with effect from 20 August 1956.

RESERVE OF AIR FORCE OFFICERS
Appointment
Victor Frederick Robertson (Captain, Salvation Army)
(134150) is granted a commission in the Chaplains Branch,
Reserve of Air Force Officers, for a period of four years. He
is appointed to the rank of Flight Lieutenant with seniority
from date of appointment. Dated 6 August 1956.

Transfer
Flying Officer Clarence Leslie Mitchell (72798) is transferred
from the General Duties Branch, Regular Air Force,
to the Reserve of Air Force Officers for a period of four
years, with effect from 6 August 1956.

PURSUANT to paragraph (b) of regulation 2 of the Hop
Marketing Regulations 1939, the Minister of Agriculture
hereby appoints

Lawrence Edward Ewers,
Jeffery MacGlashen Inglis,
Laurie Alan Palmer, and
Bertie Thomas Rowling
to be members of and representatives of producers on the Hop
Marketing Committee established under the said regulations.

Appointed (Notice No. Ag. 6162)

PURSUANT to paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section 2
of the Meat Export Control Act 1921–22, His Excellency
the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

John Davies Wilder Ormond, Esquire; and
Laurence Arthur Page Sherriff, Esquire,
to be members of and representatives of the producers of
meat for export on the New Zealand Meat Producers Board
established under the said Act.

Declaration That a Reserve be the Springs Junction Domain
and Appointment of Domain Board

PURSUANT to the Reserves and Domains Act 1953, the
Minister of Lands hereby declares the reserve for recreation
described in the Schedule hereto to be a public domain, subject
to the provisions of Part III of the said Act, to be
known as the Springs Junction Domain, and further appoints

Afton Blackadder,
Kenneth Victor Congdon,
Mavis Mildred de Filippi,
Gordon Ralph Havill,
Irene Kathleen Havill,
Arthur James Oborn,
David Eric James Timpson,
