Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1955, Amendment No. 5

Pursuant to the Control of Prices Act 1947, the Price Tribunal hereby gives the following notice:

  1. This notice may be cited as the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1955, Amendment No. 5, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Control of Prices (Positive List) Notice 1955* (hereinafter referred to as the principal notice).

  2. This notice shall come into force on the 13th day of September 1956.

  3. The principal notice shall cease to apply in respect of the goods and services set out in the Schedule hereto.

  4. The principal notice is hereby consequentially amended by omitting from the Schedule thereto all references to the goods and services referred to in the Schedule hereto in respect of which, pursuant to clause 3 hereof, the principal notice no longer applies.

Sprays and Insecticides of the following kinds:

Agricultural and horticultural fungicidal and insecticidal preparations.

Arsenical weedkillers.

Clothing of the following kinds:

Ensembles of wool or containing wool.

Overalls—

Boys', maids', and infants'.

Overall trousers—

Men's denim.

Women's drill and denim.

Overcoats and raincoats—

Men's gaberdine.

Men's covert, melton, and velour.

Underwear, knitted, of perlon, orlon, dacron, and terylene.

Uniforms: Armed Services, made to measure.

Manchester and Fabrics of the following kinds:

Woven piecegoods of cotton or artificial fibres as follows:

Denim.

Flannelette, winceyette, and similar materials.

Trouserings, cotton and union.

Footwear Components, Grindery, and Findings of the following kinds:

All footwear components and grindery and findings except full soles, half soles, full middles, half middles, insoles, stiffeners, toe puffs, heels, heel covers, top-pieces, welts or welting, randing, seat pieces, platforms, shanks, uppers and upper materials, linings, socks, crepe rubber, compound rubber sheeting, and plastic soling material.

Furniture of the following kinds:

Beds, bed ends, bedsteads.

Chairs.

Compactums.

Cots.

Duchesses.

Sideboards, dining.

Tables—

Dining.

Dressing.

Tallboys and lowboys.

Wardrobes.

Furniture, Furnishings, and Bedding Services of the following kinds:

Services performed in the manufacture and finishing of furniture, furnishings and bedding.

Groceries of the following kinds:

Acids, citric and tartaric.

Arrowroot.

Cake mixtures of fruits and other ingredients.

Fruits, dried or evaporated, except apples, apricots, dates, figs, currants, prunes, raisins and sultanas or assortments or mixtures thereof.

Grapefruit, imported.

Oils, castor, cod liver, olive, peanut, salad, and soya bean.

Vinegar, other than malt and sugar vinegar.
