Pursuant to section 15 of the Royal New Zealand Air
Force Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General
has been pleased to approve the following appointments,
confirmation of appointment, promotions, extension of commission, and date of retirement, transfers, resignations,
and cancellation of commissions of officers of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

REGULAR AIR FORCE
GENERAL DUTIES BRANCH
Cancellation, Appointment, and Confirmation of Appointment
The notices in Gazettes 65, 21 October 1954, page 1661,
and 65, 27 October 1955, page 1678, under the headings
“Regular Air Force—General Duties Branch” relating to
Colin Barrie Lynch, are cancelled.
Cadet Pilot Colin Barrie Lynch (708906) is granted a
short-service commission in the General Duties Branch, Regular Air Force, for a period of four years with the rank of
Acting Pilot Officer, to be followed by four years in the
Reserve of Air Force Officers. Dated 23 August 1954. He is
confirmed in his appointment and granted the rank of Pilot
Officer with effect from 24 August 1955.

Promotions
Flying Officer Leon Thomas McCready (621304) to be
Flight Lieutenant, with effect from 7 July 1956.

Pilot Officer Bruce Collingwood Hargraves, B.E. (71721), is
transferred from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the
Administrative and Supply Branch, Territorial Air Force,
and is granted a commission for a period of five years with
his present rank and with seniority from date of transfer, to
be followed by four years in the Reserve of Air Force Officers. Dated 10 May 1956.

Transfers and Appointments
The under-mentioned Wing Commanders are transferred
from the Reserve of Air Force Officers to the Medical
Branch, Territorial Air Force, and granted commissions for

years with the rank of Wing Commander, and with seniority
