Page 33—Tariff item 242 (1): Delete the word “plateware”. Substitute the word “platedware”.

The following amendments became effective on 6 July 1956:

Any of the goods or articles enumerated below . . . in sterling currency of the United Kingdom.)
Bank notes of the Bank of England . . . consent of the Minister of Customs.
Coin of whatever metal . . . or the Minister of Finance may permit.)

Substitute:

Bank notes of the Bank of England, and bank notes issued by banks in Scotland and Northern Ireland, save with the consent of the Minister of Customs.
