A PRIVATE BILL INTITULED “THE MASONIC PROPERTY TRUSTS ACT 1956”

NOTICE is hereby given that the District Grand Lodge of the District of New Zealand North under the Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons of Scotland, the District Grand Lodge of the District of New Zealand South under the said Grand Lodge, the District Grand Lodge of the District of Otago and Southland under the United Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons of England, and the Lodges subject to such District Grand Lodges, the District Grand Royal Arch Chapter of New Zealand (North Island) under the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Royal Arch Freemasons of Scotland, the District Grand Royal Arch Chapter of New Zealand (South Island) under the said Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter, and the Royal Arch Chapters subject to such District Grand Royal Arch Chapters, intend to apply for leave to bring into the House of Representatives at the ensuing session a private Bill, the short title of which is as above.

The object of the proposed Bill is to provide for the holding of real and personal property by Trustees on behalf of the above-mentioned District Grand Lodges and District Grand Royal Arch Chapters (hereinafter called “the Controlling Authorities”) and the Lodges and Royal Arch Chapters subject to such Controlling Authorities, and to provide for the succession of title thereto. The Bill is promoted by the Controlling Authorities whose address for service is at the offices of Messrs Reid, Rutherford, and Sumpter, Solicitors, Union Street, Milton.

A copy of the proposed Bill may be inspected at the above address.

GOLDEN BAY ELECTRIC POWER BOARD

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Reticulation Loan 1956, £45,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Golden Bay Electric Power Board hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £45,000 authorised to be raised by the Golden Bay Electric Power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing centralised load control equipment, purchasing from the State Hydro-electric Department 4·3 miles twin 11 kV. circuit to supply Golden Bay Cement Co. Ltd., and carrying out reticulation extensions and improvements throughout the Board’s district, the said Golden Bay Electric Power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Golden Bay Electric Power Board District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of a resolution passed by the Golden Bay Electric Power Board at a duly constituted meeting on the 12th day of April 1956.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was, on the 14th day of February 1956, presented to the said Court by Goldingham and Beckett Limited, a duly incorporated company having its registered office at King Street, Palmerston North, Merchant: and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Wellington on the 20th day of June 1956, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

THE following resolution was passed by the Feilding Borough Council at a meeting held on the 8th day of December 1955:

“In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Feilding Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“‘That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the Stormwater Drainage Loan of £6,700 (1955), authorised to be raised by the Feilding Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of diverting stormwater from the north-eastern area of the Borough to the Oroua River, the said Feilding Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal two three pence (0·23d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Feilding; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan or any portion thereof, and be payable yearly on the 12th day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan or any portion thereof, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.’”
