His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL P URSUANT to section 186 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954, and section 125 of the Public Works Act 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council hereby authorises the Queenstown Borough Council to lay off the proposed portion of street described in the First Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less than 66 ft. but not less than 40 ft. and to permit the laying off of the proposed portion of street described in the Second Schedule hereto at a width for part of its length of less than 66 ft., but not less than 40 ft.

THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL P URSUANT to the Harbours Act 1950, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby licenses and permits the Manapouri-Doubtful Sound Tourist Company Limited (hereinafter called the company, which term shall include its successors or assigns, unless the context requires a different construction), to use and occupy a part of the bed of the lake at Pearl Harbour, Lake Manapouri, as shown on plan marked M.D. 10,000 and deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, for the purpose of erecting and maintaining a jetty as shown on the said plan, such licence to be held and enjoyed by the company upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE 1. This licence is subject to the Foreshore Licence Regulations 1940, and the provisions of those regulations shall, so far as applicable, apply hereto. 2. The term of the licence shall be three years from the 1st day of January 1956. 3. The premium payable by the company shall be five pounds (£5) and the annual sum so payable ten pounds (£10). 4. The master of every vessel discharging ballast at the said wharf shall deposit such ballast above high-water mark, or at such place as may be approved by the Minister or by any person appointed by the Minister for that purpose.

Appointing the Whakatane County Council as Principal Authority for Elections of Members of the Whakatane Harbour Board by Electors of Certain Subdivisions of the Harbour District C. W. M. NORRIE, Governor-General ORDER IN COUNCIL At the Government Buildings at Wellington this 9th day of January 1956 Present:
THE RIGHT HON. K. J. HOLYOAKE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL WHEREAS it is provided by section 19 of the Harbours Act 1950 (hereinafter called the said Act) that, in any case where by the said Act or any special Act one or more members of a harbour board are to be elected by all or some only of the electors of the districts of two or more local authorities jointly, the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, select and appoint one of those local authorities to be the principal authority for the purpose of such election: And whereas, by Order in Council made on the 17th day of December 1952 and published in the Gazette of the 15th day of January 1953 at page 18, it is provided that one member of the Whakatane Harbour Board (hereinafter referred to as the Board) shall be elected by the electors of the Tarawera Subdivision of the Whakatane Harbour District (hereinafter referred to as the District), and that one member of the Board shall be elected by the electors of the Urewera-Galatea-Taupo-Wairoa Subdivision of the District: And whereas the Tarawera Subdivision of the District comprises a portion of the Borough of Kawerau and a portion of the County of Whakatane: And whereas the Urewera-Galatea-Taupo-Wairoa Subdivision of the District comprises a portion of the Town District of Murupara and a portion of the County of Whakatane and a portion of the County of Taupo: Now, therefore, pursuant to the said Act, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby selects and appoints the Whakatane County Council as principal authority for the purpose of elections by the electors of the Tarawera Subdivision of the District: And hereby further selects and appoints the Whakatane County Council as principal authority for the purpose of elections by the electors of the Urewera-Galatea-Taupo-Wairoa Subdivision of the District.
