Members of National Parks Authority Appointed

Pursuant to subsection (1) (f), (g), (h), and (i) of section 4 of the National Parks Act 1952, the under-mentioned persons are hereby appointed to be members of the National Parks Authority for a term of three years from lst April 1956:

Walter Reginald Brook Oliver, D.SC., F.R.S.N.Z.,
on the recommendation of the Royal Society of New Zealand;

Alfred Morris Jones,
on the recommendation of the Executive of the Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand, Incorporated;

Roderick Syme,
on the recommendation of the Dominion Executive of the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand Incorporated; and

Lancelot William McCaskill, M.AGR.SC., DIP.C.A.C.,
to represent the National Park Boards constituted under the aforesaid Act.

Member of the Whakatohea Maori Trust Board Appointed

Pursuant to section 16 of the Maori Trust Boards Act 1955, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government in Council has been pleased to appoint

Frank Matchitt
to be a member of the Whakatohea Maori Trust Board to represent the Ngati Ngahere sub-tribe, in place of Charles Matchitt, deceased.

Gerard Henry Nicholls, Esquire, of Te Aroha, of his appointment as a Coroner for New Zealand.

of Palmerston North, Barrister and Solicitor, to be a Stipendiary Magistrate on and from the 1st day of June 1956, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand.

Stipendiary Magistrate, to exercise jurisdiction in the Children's Court established at New Plymouth, on and from the 1st day of June 1956.

Gerald Alfred Nicholls, Esquire,
Stipendiary Magistrate, to exercise jurisdiction in the Children's Court established at Invercargill, on and from the 21st day of May 1956.

Commissioner of the Supreme Court Appointed

Pursuant to section 47 of the Judicature Act 1908, the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, K.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, has this day appointed Norman Robert McDowell, Esquire, of Sydney, New South Wales, a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, to be a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in New South Wales, for the purposes of administering and taking of such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.
