Declaring Lands in North Auckland, South Auckland, and Canterbury Land Districts Vested in the Auckland, South Auckland, and Canterbury Education Boards as Sites for Public Schools to be Vested in Her Majesty the Queen

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS by subsection (6) of section 5 of the Education Lands Act 1949 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) it is provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in any other Act, the Governor-General may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any school site or part of a school site which in his opinion is no longer required for that purpose shall be vested in Her Majesty; and thereupon the school site, or part thereof, as the case may be, shall vest in Her Majesty, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements, affecting the same at the date of the Proclamation:

Now, therefore, pursuant to subsection (6) of section 5 of the said Act, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Auckland Education Board, and the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the South Auckland Education Board, and the land described in the Third Schedule hereto, being an area vested in the Canterbury Education Board, as sites for public schools, shall be vested in Her Majesty the Queen, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting the same, but subject to all leases, encumbrances, liens, or easements affecting the same at the date hereof.

FIRST SCHEDULE

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

PART northern portion of Allotment 36, Parish of Oruru, situated in Block I, Maungataniwha Survey District, and Block VIII, Mangonui Survey District: Area, 2 acres, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 204, folio 10. As shown on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/1242G deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE

SOUTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT

ALL the land shown on D.P. 16297, being parts Kaimai No. 1 and Purakautahi Blocks, situated in Block V, Otanewainuku Survey District: Area, 3 acres, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 364, folio 233.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT

PART Rural Section 18511, situated in Block II, Leeston Survey District: Area, 5 acres, more or less. All certificate of title, Volume 98, folio 42. Land Held for a Police Station Set Apart for State Housing Purposes in the City of Palmerston North

A PROCLAMATION

PURSUANT to the Public Works Act 1928, I, Major-General the Right Honourable Sir Harold Eric Barrowclough, the Administrator of the Government of New Zealand, hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, now held for a police station, is hereby set apart for State housing purposes; and I also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the 30th day of April 1956.

SCHEDULE

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land set apart: 1 rood. Being Lot 31, D.P. 48, being part Section 612, Town of Palmerston North. All certificate of title, Volume 137, folio 221, Wellington Land Registry. Situated in the City of Palmerston North.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, and issued under the Seal of New Zealand, this 23rd day of April 1956.
