TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1953

OBJECTIONS TO HERETAUNGA-PINEHAVEN (HUTT COUNTY)
DISTRICT SCHEME NO. 1

THE Hutt County Council hereby gives notice that the
hearing of objections to the district scheme relating to
Heretaunga-Pinehaven will commence at the Hutt County
Council rooms in Bowen House, Bowen Street, Wellington,
at 10 o’clock in the forenoon on Wednesday, the 30th day
of May, and will continue as there arranged from time to
time and place to place until all objections and witnesses who
appear have been heard.
All persons who wish to be heard in support of or opposi-
tion to any objection shall notify the Council accordingly at
least three days before that date.
The following is a summary of subject matters of objections
received by the Council:

A. Homes and Sections Ltd.
Part of Lots 16, 17, 18, 19, and 36 of D.P. 1925, C.T.
202/124 and 368/144, are not included in the residential area,
whereas a residential development scheme has been prepared
as Town of Pinehaven Extension No. 11.

B. Upper Hutt Borough Council

  1. Proposed stopbank not shown in the plan.
  2. Area between proposed stopbank and river, including
    stopbank, should be zoned as reserve.
  3. No provision made for a hospital in the area.
  4. All land in Sections 83 and 85 between proposed stop-
    bank and Main Road should be shown as residential.
  5. Road link between proposed Motorway and Sutherland
    Avenue is not shown.
  6. There are vast areas of suitable residential land reserved
    for army and prison purposes.
  7. Protest is made against the continuance of Wallaceville
    Animal Research Laboratory area being reserved on land
    contiguous to the railway.

C. Wellington Regional Planning Council
That a road connection between Sutherland Avenue in
Upper Hutt Borough and the proposed Motorway adjacent to
the Hutt River has not been indicated on the scheme.

ALEXANDRA BOROUGH COUNCIL

SPECIAL RATE

Waterworks Loan 1955, £7,500

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the
Alexandra Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £7,500 to be known as the Waterworks
Loan 1955, authorised to be raised by the Alexandra Borough
Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926 for the
purpose of altering and extending the watermains, the said
Alexandra Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of seven-eighths (⅞d.) of a penny in the pound upon the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all
rateable property in the Borough of Alexandra; and that such
special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of
April in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

NEW LYNN BOROUGH COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Roading Reconstruction Loan

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the New
Lynn Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £15,000 authorised to be raised by the
New Lynn Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act
for roading reconstruction purposes, the said New Lynn
Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of
decimal two one two five pence (0·2125d.) in the pound on
the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of
all rateable property in the Borough of New Lynn, and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable on the 1st day of
July in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Rural Housing Loan 1955, £16,000

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the
Bruce County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £16,000 authorised to be raised
by the Bruce County Council under the above-mentioned Act
for the purpose of providing rural housing, the said Bruce
County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-
seventeenth (1/17th) of a penny in the pound on the rateable
capital value of all rateable property in the County; and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day
of May in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.”

NOTE.—The rate to be struck as security only as the loan
charges will be met from rental charges or from repayments
of any advances made.

The foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed at a
meeting of the Bruce County Council on the 14th day of
December 1955, and confirmed at a special meeting on the
25th day of January 1956.

GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE

Rural Housing Loan 1956

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act 1926, the Geraldine
County Council hereby resolves as follows:

“That, for the purposes of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £12,000 authorised to be raised by the
Geraldine County Council under the above-mentioned Act for
the purpose of making advances for the erection of dwellings
in the County of Geraldine for farmers and farm workers,
the said Geraldine County Council hereby makes and levies
a special rate of 0·040d. in the pound upon the rateable value
(on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property of
the County of Geraldine, and that such special rate shall be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan
and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

OTAKI BOROUGH COUNCIL

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND

In the matter of the Public Works Act 1928 and the
Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and their respective
amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Mayor, Councillors, and
Citizens of the Borough of Otaki proposes under the
provisions of the above-mentioned Acts and all other Acts,
powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf to take land
for a public work, namely, housing purposes, and for the pur-
poses of such public work the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken; and notice is further given that
a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the
public office of the Otaki Borough Council, Main Street,
Otaki, and is there open for inspection without fee by all
persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or by the taking of the said land who have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said land must submit their objections
in writing, and send the same, within forty days of the first
publication of this notice, to the Otaki Borough Council,
addressed to the Town Clerk at the office of the said Council
at Main Street, Otaki.

SCHEDULE

ALL that piece of land containing 1 rood 4 perches, situate in
the Otaki District, being known by the name of “Te Ahi-
tangutu” and numbered 2710, sometimes known as “Te
Ahitangutu” No. 6, and being also the whole of the land in
certificate of title, Volume 3, folio 16.

Dated at Otaki this 11th day of April 1956.
